Rem

Rem is a maid serving Margrave Roswaal L. Mathers alongside her older twin sister Ram, and one of Re:Zero's central supporting characters. Born of the Oni Tribe, she was raised attached to and reliant on Ram above all else.

Rem has medium-length sky-blue hair covering her right eye and large light-blue eyes, nearly identical to her sister apart from coloring. Outwardly composed and polite, she hides a sharp tongue and a deep inferiority complex rooted in her childhood, when she felt worthless beside her gifted sister. She throws herself wholly into whatever she cares about, loyal to a fault.

After the Witch Cult destroyed her village and Ram lost her horn, both sisters were saved by Roswaal and became his maids. Rem initially treats Subaru with hostility — even as an enemy during the first half of Arc 2 — but after he saves her she opens her heart and falls deeply in love with him, becoming one of his most steadfast supporters.
