Emilia is the main heroine of Re:Zero, a half-elf candidate to become the 42nd monarch of the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica in the Royal Selection. She meets Subaru on the very day he is summoned, when he helps recover her stolen insignia, and the two are drawn together through the trials that follow.
She is a beautiful half-elf with long silver hair, purple-blue eyes, and pointed ears, usually with a white flower in her hair. Kind, selfless, and energetic, she loves caring for others yet often dismisses her own goodness as mere selfishness. She dislikes fighting, prefers to understand her enemies, holds promises sacred, and is a famously poor liar.
Raised by her aunt Fortuna in Elior Forest, Emilia had her memories sealed and her body frozen for roughly a century during the forest's Permafrost. Watched over by the spirit Puck, she later entered the Royal Selection hoping to unfreeze the forest's people. Because she resembles the Witch of Envy, she endures fierce discrimination as she pursues the throne.
