The Ink Dragon is a rising star of the righteous camp who belongs to no sect and is famed for speaking blunt truths. In the novel Blood Path he is the senior-brother mentor who teaches martial arts to the dim-witted protagonist, and it is at the Tang Clan gathering that their paths are meant to cross. Han Seojin considers him one of the most important figures of that event.
Rumours of his arrival fill the Tang Clan gathering. Yet Han Seojin's scheming throws events off course: the rebellious Cheongwol kicks the Ink Dragon in the chest, and the affronted master threatens to quit the gathering, and with it collapses the fateful meeting of the novel's protagonist that Han had striven so hard to preserve.
