Linley Baruch

Linley Baruch is the protagonist of Coiling Dragon (Panlong). Born on the Yulan Plane into the once-glorious but now impoverished Baruch Clan, he is a tall man with long brown hair and light brown eyes, both a magus and a warrior. After drinking dragon blood he awakens as a Dragonblood Warrior able to assume an azure dragon form.

Intensely focused and driven to become the strongest, Linley trains relentlessly, yet places his family and friends above his own ambition. As a boy his father Hogg teaches him the clan's proud history and gives him the Coiling Dragon Ring, which holds the soul of the grand magus Doehring Cowart — his first mentor, who teaches him earth magic and a unique sculpting technique. At the Ernst Institute he befriends future allies and meets his future wife, Delia Leon.

After his father's death and the fall of his homeland, Linley walks a long road of vengeance and self-improvement — founding the Baruch Duchy, exploring the Necropolis of the Gods, and steadily ascending through the higher planes. His lifelong companion is the magical beast Bebe. Over the course of the story he grows from a struggling student into one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
