Templo

The Temple (神殿) is both a place of worship and the sole religious institution of Yurgenschmidt. Each duchy has one temple in its capital; in the Duchy of Ehrenfest it stands on the border between the Noble's Quarter and the commoners' lower city, with a mana-locked northern gate for nobles and a southern gate for commoners.

The temple is led by the High Bishop, with the High Priest serving directly beneath. Blue priests and shrine maidens — usually of noble birth — live in the administrative building and are waited on by gray priests and shrine maidens, orphans raised within the temple. It holds ceremonial halls, chambers for its clergy, and a book room that mostly stores religious scrolls and copies of the bible.

For Myne, the temple is a turning point: drawn there by her enormous mana, she becomes an apprentice blue shrine maiden and gains access to its precious books, entangling her life with figures such as the High Priest Ferdinand and, later, taking on the role of High Bishop herself.
