Ga Yeong is the only daughter of a dumpling shop, whom Han Seojin vaguely knew from his beggar days. The friendly girl who calls out to come eat steamed dumplings is in fact a member of the Hao Gate: like many common folk she serves as its eyes and ears, and by this feeds her ailing father. Through her and 'brother' Wi Chang, Han Seojin gathers intelligence across the whole murim.
Ga Yeong is a dependable link in Han Seojin's information network: through her he asks the Hao Gate to dig up news of the Namgung family. When her father falls ill her stall stands empty, and Han, knowing of her sweetheart Jang Cheolyu, stages a sham betrothal with her as a ruse, repaying an old debt to a friend from his beggar years.
