Wakaba

The protagonist is a Japanese high-school girl, Wakaba Hiiro, whose class was killed in a mysterious explosion and reincarnated into a fantasy world. She is reborn as a Small Lesser Taratect — a weak spider monster — at the bottom of the Great Elroe Labyrinth, the world's largest and most dangerous dungeon. Readers know her simply as "Kumoko" (the spider), and later as Shiraori.

Alone and hunted, she survives by fighting, eating, leveling up and evolving over two years. To cope with constant danger she keeps up a happy-go-lucky, sarcastic inner monologue, but the relentless hardship — losing half her body, eating rotten and poisonous prey, losing her nest — gradually wears down her hope and empathy. Resourceful, ruthless and analytical, she treats survival almost like a video game.

After evolving into an Arachne she clashes with the Demon Lord Ariel; unable to kill one another, they call a truce, and Ariel names her "White" (Shiro). She then travels with Ariel, Sophia, Merazophis and the Puppet Taratects to the Demon Realm. Eventually she transcends the System and is reborn as the god-like Shiraori, commander of the Tenth Demon Army — and the mysterious white girl who slew the Hero Julius.
