Reina

Reina is the daughter of Marquess Raivel of House Agleia and Varis's fiancee since early childhood, who becomes queen of Alveria and the story's central heroine. She has large golden ringlets, blue eyes, and a full figure; her favourite colour is azure. Outwardly she carries herself like a classic 'villainess'—haughty and cold—yet in private she proves affectionate and coquettish.

At heart Reina is just and honest, unafraid to point out Varis's mistakes. She is King Ars's pupil in swordsmanship, wields a great two-handed sword, and is counted among the kingdom's strongest warriors; at Bertea she single-handedly held back the demon-god Biblos. Behind her arrogant facade lies a sincere, genuine love for Varis.

The great twist of her fate: from birth the power of the demon-god of vengeance, Morrigan, slumbered within her, having entered through a silver bracelet belonging to her late mother Laura (a heretical relic). Throughout childhood Reina resisted the 'mother's voice' in her head. At her own coronation she partially transformed into a demon—with black wings, a horn, and a sword—and abducted herself into the ancient dungeon beneath the capital.

Reina wields heretical magic and is immune to miasma. At the decisive moment she rejected the path of vengeance, and her true love for Varis overcame the possession. Varis destroyed Morrigan and rescued Reina, after which she took her place upon the throne as queen.

Reina is one of Alveria's strongest warriors, a master of the great two-handed sword trained personally by King Ars; at Bertea she alone held back the demon-god Biblos. Beyond her martial prowess she inherited heretical magic through her mother's bracelet, granting her immunity to miasma. In her partial demonic transformation she gains black wings, a horn, and a demonic sword, yet retains her own will thanks to her true love for Varis.
