"Huihuang, what are you doing here?" Shuise Qiangwei asked in surprise upon seeing him.
"I was worried you'd get swindled by someone, so I came to keep an eye on things. Last time you spent over ten million Credit Points and came back with a pile of worthless scrap paper — that really upset a lot of the guild elders."
"This time you've been spending huge amounts of money and manpower buying up all kinds of ores and materials, and the elders are furious. Such a big operation and you didn't even notify them. So they sent me to tell you that from now on, you need to get their approval before making any moves."
"Now hurry back with me and explain yourself. Otherwise, these elders are really going to hold it against you, and you'll have a hard time of it down the road."
The man — named Huihuang Zhanshen — shot a glare at Shi Feng. He had always regarded Shuise Qiangwei as his woman. This fellow before him was shrouded in a black cloak, clearly some nobody who didn't even dare show his face, yet here he was, daring to sneak around with Shuise Qiangwei. He immediately reached for her hand, trying to drag her away.
Shi Feng shrugged, utterly indifferent to this man whose IQ was roughly on par with a monkey's. He treated the whole thing like watching a circus act.
Shuise Qiangwei slapped Huihuang Zhanshen's hand away, her delicate brows furrowing slightly. She had worked so hard to build a relationship with Shi Feng, and now they needed to discuss serious matters. She had no idea how Huihuang Zhanshen had gotten wind of this, but if it weren't for the long-standing friendly ties between their families, she wouldn't have bothered with him at all.
"Huihuang, I have important business to discuss. Go back. As for the guild elders, I'll speak with them myself when I return," Shuise Qiangwei said with visible impatience.
Her trade with Shi Feng had been conducted entirely with her own money and her own people. The elders had no right to meddle in those affairs, nor could they. Moreover, she was a Honorary Elder of the guild, holding the same status as the rest of them. It wasn't their place to second-guess her decisions. They were simply jealous that she'd been making good profits and wanted a cut of the action.
Huihuang Zhanshen saw Shuise Qiangwei's attitude and realized he had no choice but to back down.
"Fine, if you won't go back, then I'll stay by your side and protect you. Wouldn't want anyone getting any ideas," he said, casting a venomous glance at Shi Feng.
Shuise Qiangwei felt a flash of irritation. She was in the middle of discussing highly sensitive matters with Shi Feng — there was no way she could let Huihuang Zhanshen eavesdrop.
"No. Go back," she said coldly.
Hearing Shuise Qiangwei say that only made Huihuang Zhanshen angrier. He turned his fury toward Shi Feng and secretly sent him a message.
"This young master is an elder of the Twilight Echo guild. You'd better be smart and get lost. Shuise is my plaything — from now on, you're forbidden from contacting her. If I find out you have, you know what'll happen."
