Chapter 2133: Battles in the Demon World — Secret Treasury of the Weeping Spirit

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 921 words

Throughout it all, not a single one of the nearby demon guards managed to detect in the slightest.

As for Han Li at this moment, his curiosity about the identities of the two ahead had only deepened.

He had been able to disregard the restrictions around the city wall by relying on his immense power, but the two ahead were clearly far weaker than him, yet they too had passed through those same restrictions without alerting them in the slightest.

Clearly, the pair either possessed some special treasure capable of bypassing restrictions, or they themselves might control the passage through those restrictions—meaning they were figures of some standing within Blood Crow City.

As Han Li's thoughts raced, he remained locked onto the two streaks of fleeing light ahead like a maggot clinging to bone, following them for over ten thousand li until they arrived above a stretch of dark, jumbled rock piles.

Suddenly, the ball of green light at the very front plunged downward, vanishing among the rocks in a flash.

The gray streak of light trailing closely behind paused ever so briefly, then descended without the slightest hesitation as well.

On a massive boulder below, the gray light contracted and revealed a gray-robed elder with silver eyes, his face bearing a cold, severe expression as he surveyed his surroundings.

"Oh? Isn't that the Blood Crow City Lord?"

Han Li appeared soundlessly above the jumbled rocks, studying the old man below with a couple of glances, a flicker of surprise crossing his face.

The Blood Crow City Lord naturally did not detect the concealed Han Li overhead. His gaze swept the surroundings, and he let out a cold snort. With a flip of his hand, a small black umbrella suddenly appeared, which he then tossed into the air while chanting an incantation.

With a whoosh!

The small black umbrella instantly expanded to roughly a zhang in size, hovering in midair as it released ten thousand beams of black light, blanketing several acres of ground beneath it.

From behind a smaller boulder several dozen zhang away from the old man, a muffled boom rang out!

A pale blue figure stumbled into view as if struck by a tremendous force—it was a middle-aged man in a blue robe with plain features, his face utterly devoid of expression, as though he had long anticipated being exposed.

Han Li caught sight of the middle-aged man's face, and his eyes flickered slightly.

This man was none other than the demon known as "Second Brother Yang" who had won the bidding for that holy brick at the auction house.

And the very instant the man was forced into the open, the Blood Crow City Lord let out a low shout, his palm sweeping abruptly through the void.

A blood-red light more than ten zhang long flashed and vanished in the blink of an eye, and with a thunderous roar, the boulder standing in front of Second Brother Yang was cleaved cleanly in two.

However, the middle-aged man's figure blurred and vanished from the spot in an instant, causing the blood-light to slash through empty air.

A massive trench ten zhang long immediately appeared in the ground, looking absolutely terrifying.

"Heh heh, just for a mere worldly possession, does Fellow Daoist Bing truly intend to take my life?" In a different direction at some distance from the trench, Second Brother Yang flickered into view with his arms crossed, a hint of mockery playing at the corners of his mouth. He showed not the slightest trace of fear toward the Blood Crow City Lord, a Spirit Integration demon lord.

"So you really did lure me outside the city on purpose. If you have any helpers, call them all out." The Blood Crow City Lord's eyes glinted with cold menace as he spoke slowly to the middle-aged man.

"Helpers? Why would you say that, Fellow Daoist Bing? There is no third person here besides myself." Second Brother Yang laughed heartily in reply.

"A mere Void Refining cultivator—without someone backing you, would you dare act so composed before this city lord?" Silver light swirled within the Blood Crow City Lord's eyes as he spoke in a dark tone.

"If Brother Bing doesn't believe me, there's nothing more I can say. But I lured you here with no ill intentions—I only wish to discuss a mutually beneficial transaction with you." Second Brother Yang blinked his eyes and replied with complete nonchalance.

"Discussing a transaction is certainly possible. But that depends on whether you even have the qualifications to negotiate with me. Kill you, and I'll have what I want—why would I bother with a transaction?" The Blood Crow City Lord burst into wild laughter upon hearing this. He took a single massive stride forward, and his figure abruptly vanished amid a swirl of blood-light.

The next instant, a ripple appeared behind the middle-aged man, and the Blood Crow City Lord materialized like a phantom. His body swelling in size, a massive blood-colored hand carrying a gust of putrid wind struck straight down toward Second Brother Yang's head.

The Blood Crow City Lord had no intention of listening to anything further. He unleashed his great divine ability outright, intending to kill the middle-aged man with a single palm strike.

The corner of Second Brother Yang's eye twitched suddenly, but without even turning his head, he struck back with a palm of his own.

A ghostly wail rose into the air as a pitch-black hand of equal size materialized to meet it.
