Chapter 1823: Hundred Races of the Spirit World — The Rong Tribe's Secret Cave

January 17, 2020 · 6 min read · 1,186 words

High above an unnamed great canyon nestled deep within a mountain range, an ordinary-looking white cloud drifted leisurely through the sky.

Inside the cloud, two furiously furry Rong tribe members were concealed within, speaking in hushed tones.

"Brother Xuan, those Violent Tribe members left over a day ago. Why haven't they returned yet? Something couldn't have gone wrong, could it?" asked one Rong tribe member, a faint green birthmark on his forehead, with a note of worry in his voice.

"Wrong? What could possibly go wrong? The two Tianyun cultivators who fled both suffered severe damage to their origin energy, and the Violent Tribe sent a full four men after them. There won't be any problems. Most likely those two Tianyun people used some sort of secret technique to burn through their hidden potential, which is why it's taking a bit longer than expected." The other Rong tribe member was clad in a set of crimson battle armor and replied dismissively.

"Mm, those two Tianyun cultivators really are skilled in some rather bizarre escape arts. Otherwise, they wouldn't have gotten away that day." The first speaker seemed somewhat persuaded and nodded in agreement.

"However, the final section of the Golden Seal Script in the secret cave actually requires multiple Guanghan Tokens to break its seals. What a surprise. It means we have no choice but to wait for the other teams to arrive. I don't even know if two Guanghan Tokens will be enough. We might need three, or even four. If that's the case, we may end up with only an incomplete technique." The one in crimson battle armor let out a sigh.

"The seals on the last section of the Golden Seal Script are completely different from the earlier portions — it's clearly the most important part. If we're truly missing the final incantation, then no matter how extraordinary this immortal realm technique might be, it would be nearly impossible to cultivate successfully. It's a shame that none of us can read the Golden Seal Script — this true immortal realm spirit script. Otherwise, we could at least study the preceding content to get some idea of what we're dealing with." The Rong tribe member with the green birthmark looked equally glum.

"Since this is a technique recorded in the Golden Seal Script, how could we possibly give it up so easily? The troublesome part is that the nearest team is still four or five days' journey away. If we really do need more Guanghan Tokens, we could be stuck here idling for months. And if that happens, our original seclusion and advancement plans will be completely thrown off." The crimson-armored Rong tribe member's expression darkened noticeably.

"That is rather troublesome. But if this Golden Seal Script technique truly proves to be of great use, it might well make our entire tribe stronger. Compared to that, what do the rest matter?" The Rong tribe member with the green birthmark furrowed his brows and spoke slowly.

"That may be so. But the Guanghan Realm is an exceptional opportunity for us to advance to the Sage Stage. I certainly don't want to let this chance slip by." The armored Rong tribe member spoke with a gloomy expression.

"There's no point in talking about other things now. All we can do is hope the other teams receive our message and send over the Guanghan Tokens as quickly as possible. It really is quite astonishing when you think about it. All along, every tribe has only ever regarded the tokens as keys to enter the Guanghan Realm. Who could have guessed that these tokens would also be of great use against certain restrictions within this realm? When we report back, we absolutely must inform the Elders — the next time the Guanghan Realm opens, we need to pay closer attention to this matter…"

And so, these two Rong tribe members hid within the white clouds, chatting back and forth idly.

Yet if anyone were listening from outside the white clouds, not a single word could be heard.

The white clouds they sheltered in were actually the manifestation of some mysterious restriction. These two, naturally, were the Rong tribe's sentries on watch.

What these two Rong tribe members did not know was that at the very moment they were speaking, a spectral figure imperceptible even to divine sense was hovering over a hundred zhang above the white clouds, appraising the two of them with utter nonchalance.

The cloud-like restriction seemed utterly incapable of blocking this person's gaze.

That figure was none other than Han Li, who had finally arrived after spending the better part of a day traveling here.

Though the cloud restriction was quite ingenious, Han Li had relied on his Spirit Eye ability to detect the presence of these two outsiders well in advance.

He had activated the Taiyi Transformation Talisman from a distance to render his body ethereal before slowly flying over to this location.

Relying on his powerful divine sense, far surpassing the two individuals below, Han Li naturally caught every word of the conversation between these two Rong tribesmen.

Learning that the tribesmen had not yet succeeded brought him a small measure of relief. However, when he heard that the restrictions within the secret cave required the Guanghan Token to break, his expression shifted slightly.

But Han Li quickly recalled something and soon returned to his usual composure.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he gazed deeply downward. His figure moved, and he began to drift slowly down into the canyon below.

The two alien racesmen directly beneath him were so close they had failed to detect his presence at all. Had he harbored any intent to act, he could have easily eliminated them.

Yet the thought that both likely possessed some form of Life Plate or similar item immediately sobered him. Killing them would almost certainly alert the other Rong tribesmen within the secret cave, so he dismissed the notion.

After all, this trip was not for the purpose of killing.

Until he had seen the golden seal script cultivation technique, he had no intention whatsoever of alerting the Rong tribesmen.

As these thoughts circulated in Han Li's mind, he floated gently dozens of feet deeper into the canyon, while a blue light flashed within his gaze as he scanned the walls on either side.

His expression changed slightly as his gaze fixed upon a particular spot on the stone wall.

The stone wall was a pale yellow in color, its surface crossed by several cracks that appeared utterly ordinary.

However, in Han Li's eyes, when viewed from a peculiar angle, these cracks formed the pattern of the Big Dipper constellation.

A hint of delight flickered across his face. Without the slightest hesitation, he urged his body forward, diving straight toward that section of the stone wall.

With a soft "thump"!

A faint spiritual light flashed across the surface of the stone wall, and his body passed through without the slightest resistance.

In the next instant, Han Li's vision brightened, and he suddenly found himself standing within an extraordinarily wide passageway.
