stood on a stone platform halfway up a mountain called Wujun Mountain, at the end of a wide, several-zhang expanse paved with rock. There, completely concealed by a formation array, was a massive cave dwelling—“Yue Lu Hall.”

This “Yue Lu Hall” was the specialized repository within for artifact and pill refining recipes, books, and related secret techniques. It also provided various auxiliary tools for alchemy and artifact crafting, as well as some common raw materials. It could be said to be one of the most important places within the entire mountain gate. Therefore, not only were restrictions layered thick here, with formation arrays overlapping one upon another, but often over a hundred disciples were on guard patrol nearby to prevent enemy intrusion. Some even rumored that a Foundation Establishment stage Martial Ancestor was in seclusion year-round within this hall to guard against any powerful intruders.

Having cycled through the relevant information he had collected in his mind, Han Li strode forward with a composed expression.

As soon as he landed here, he had felt several watchful gazes sizing him up from the shadows, but perhaps seeing that Han Li’s magical power was ordinary, they quickly withdrew. Even so, it made Han Li secretly startled.

The fact that these people could remain undetectable by him meant they either possessed excellent artifacts capable of concealing their forms, or their magical power was genuinely superior to his—both were elite disciples at the twelfth level or above. How could this not make Han Li even more cautious?

After taking a few steps forward, he stopped. Then, after softly chanting a few words of a formula, he flicked his hand. A beam of red light shot from his palm, striking a spot ahead that seemed utterly empty.

Following a ripple of spatial fluctuations, a glowing red barrier suddenly appeared before him, blocking his path. Immediately afterward, two disciples in red robes materialized behind the barrier.

“Was it you who broke the restriction?” one of the red-robed disciples said coldly.

“Your humble servant is Han Li, and I—”

“Who cares who you are? Since you don’t have Foundation Establishment cultivation, you must have a guarantor. Produce the guarantor’s token!” the disciple interrupted Han Li’s explanation impatiently.

Hearing this discourteous remark, Han Li remained unperturbed. With a calm expression, he produced a jade talisman from his robe and placed it on the ground in front of him, through the barrier.

At that moment, the cold-speaking red-robed disciple tapped the barrier with his finger, and a palm-sized circular opening appeared out of thin air.

The other red-robed man, who had not spoken, then made a slight beckoning gesture. Han Li’s jade talisman, as if it had grown wings, flew automatically through the small opening and into his hand.

“Martial Brother Ma is your guarantor?” After examining the jade talisman, the red-robed man spoke with some surprise.

“Indeed. Martial Uncle Ma provided this token to your humble servant,” Han Li replied honestly. But inwardly, he was shocked. These two red-robed men looked young, yet they were also Foundation Establishment experts, which startled him considerably.

He knew that in cultivation sects, seniority was not determined by who entered earlier, but by the depth of one’s realm. After all, on the Path of Immortal Cultivation, the capable were masters!

“Is that Martial Brother Ma who is obsessed with alchemy all day?” The other red-robed disciple beside him also felt surprised.

“Isn’t that so? He would vouch for someone? Truly surprising! You wouldn’t happen to be his personal disciple or a relative, would you?” The red-robed man holding the talisman, after confirming it several times, grew curious.

“No, Junior Disciple merely tends to Martial Uncle Ma’s medicinal herb garden. But for this token, I agreed to tend the garden for free for a year!” Han Li didn’t dare delay now and hurriedly replied respectfully, though a bitter smile played on his face.

Every word he said was true.

In fact, when Han Li first considered obtaining the recipes, this Martial Uncle Ma was the person he had in mind. Since this old man grew so many medicinal herbs, he must be very knowledgeable about alchemy and certainly possessed many pill recipes. So, several months ago, while the old man was collecting herbs, Han Li had subtly hinted at the matter.
