"You really think people are fools, Zuoqiu Youyu?"
"If you dare lay a hand on us, my grandfather and my maternal grandfather will never let you off."
Xia Yan could sense things turning ugly, and with no other option, she had no choice but to invoke her grandfather and maternal grandfather to threaten Zuoqiu Youyu.
But Zuoqiu Youyu said nothing. He simply walked up to Xia Yan, then threw a punch that landed squarely on her stomach.
The blow sent a mouthful of blood spurting from Xia Yan's lips, and her legs buckled beneath her as she crashed to her knees with a thud.
Yet Zuoqiu Youyu showed no mercy. He grabbed her by the hair and wrenched her to her feet from where she knelt on the ground.
Xia Yan's face was twisted with fury, but that punch had been agonizingly painful — so painful that her entire body was trembling, so painful that she could no longer speak. All she could do was stare at Zuoqiu Youyu's cold, merciless face.
And it was precisely that cold, merciless face that now filled her with fear.
"You're using your grandfather and maternal grandfather to threaten me?"
"Then let's make a wager. Let's see whether your grandfathers can do a single thing to me after I kill you."
With those words, Zuoqiu Youyu flicked his sleeve, seized Xia Yan by the hair, and slammed her head savagely into the ground.
Seeing Zuoqiu Youyu treat Xia Yan this way, Zuoqiu Yanliang showed not a shred of sympathy. Instead, a smug smile crept across his face — he found it deeply satisfying.
For the longest time, out of consideration for Xia Yan's background and her talent, the two brothers had shown her a considerable degree of forbearance.
But in truth, never mind Zuoqiu Youyu — even he had long harbored deep resentment toward Xia Yan.
"This is a rare opportunity. Let's part ways here."
"If you can find that Chu Feng, just deal with him on the spot."
After settling Xia Yan, Zuoqiu Youyu addressed Zuoqiu Yanliang.
"And if we still haven't found Chu Feng before this ends?" Zuoqiu Yanliang glanced at Xia Yan and the others as he spoke.
His implication was clear — if they couldn't find Chu Feng, what would they do with Xia Yan and the rest?
"I already told you, didn't I?"
"Brother, you're not going soft on me, are you?" Zuoqiu Youyu asked.
"Soft? Of course not. I'm just worried that getting rid of them might cause trouble for Grandfather." Zuoqiu Yanliang replied.
"You're wrong. We wouldn't be causing trouble for Grandfather — we'd be solving it."
Once those words left his lips, Zuoqiu Youyu leaped into the air and departed.
Though Zuoqiu Youyu had left, the ropes binding Xia Yan and the others were forged from a special treasure, so Xia Yan remained utterly powerless to resist.
Zuoqiu Yanliang produced a Universe Bag and swept Xia Yan and the rest inside.
After stowing them away, Zuoqiu Yanliang also headed off in another direction.
He, too, was going to seek out his own opportunity.
…
Meanwhile, in another part of the Yin-Yang Withered Well World, Chu Feng was concealing his presence and moving swiftly forward.
Chu Feng had not only unleashed his Thunder Mark and Thunder Armor — he had even activated the power of his Four Symbols Divine Body.
He was practically going all out just to travel at maximum speed.
"Chu Feng, where are we headed? Are we going back to find Xia Yan and the others?" Yu Sha asked.
"No. We can't go back," Chu Feng replied.
"But weren't you ambushed? If we don't go back, won't Xia Yan and the others be in danger too?" Yu Sha pressed.
"They should be fine."
"Besides, I'm no match for Zuoqiu Yanliang and Zuoqiu Youyu right now."
"If I stay away, they might be safe. But if I go back, they could actually be in more danger."
