Just as Enrique refused to give the Marquis the time of day and the Marquis's fury was about to reach its peak, the head of the Adventurer's Guild appeared.
"Grand Master! You shouldn't be coming to a place like this!"
The master of the Royal Capital's Adventurer's Guild is known as the Grand Master.
This particular Grand Master wielded such extraordinary power that he was called the "War God," and naturally, he held the Orichalcum rank.
Despite his advanced age, his body was still dense with muscle and sinew, he sported an impressive beard, and he remained very much active in the field.
A battle maniac through and through, he was revered by the equally brawny adventurers he led; despite being completely hopeless with paperwork, he still served as Grand Master.
He had a sharp nose for trouble as well—whenever he stuck his nose into something, it never ended well.
That was precisely why Enrique had intended to shut the Marquis down at his own level and keep the whole affair from ever reaching the Grand Master's ears.
But it was no use.
"……Oh, is that so? Enrique, is this Alan guy strong?"
Having heard the Marquis's request over again, the Grand Master turned to Enrique with a question.
"……He has Orichalcum-rank strength."
He couldn't bring himself to say, "Stronger than you."
If he did, the Grand Master would gleefully go challenge Alan himself.
And the Adventurer's Guild would collapse.
"Alright then, I'll take it on! No need for a reward! Gahaha!!"
