The content of everyone's discussions was simply too staggering. Over ten Seven Star Demons had been locked in battle, six of whom had wielded the power of High Gods. A clash among such super-class experts was exceedingly rare. Even when it happened, such floating images rarely circulated.
"How could it be Lin Lei?" Solomon was completely stunned.
Yet from the clamor of voices, Solomon learned that the so-called "Lin Lei" everyone was talking about belonged to the Azure Dragon clan. And the Lin Lei he knew was also from the Azure Dragon clan! "Could it really be him?" Solomon couldn't believe it. "He's only a Mid-stage God — how could he have slain five Seven Star Demons? Absolutely not. Absolutely not!!!"
One person killing five Seven Star Demons — the achievement was too terrifying.
In Solomon's eyes, no matter how quickly Lin Lei had grown, it was impossible for him to have reached such heights.
"Sis, did you hear? They're talking about Lin Lei!" Nisa turned to look at her brother Solomon, her eyes filled with disbelief. At the same time, a flicker of hope ignited in her heart —
She had originally thought that both Lin Lei and Bei Bei were dead.
If Lin Lei was alive, then maybe Bei Bei could be alive too! The thought that Bei Bei might still be alive set her heart, which had been dormant for over a thousand years, racing once more.
"Could just be the same name," Solomon sneered, feigning contempt. "You know what Lin Lei's strength is like — he's only a Mid-stage God. Even against an ordinary High God, he'd barely manage. Killing five Seven Star Demons by himself? Do you really believe that?"
Nisa froze.
"Come on, forget the idle gossip. It's probably some super expert who happens to share the same name as Lin Lei," Solomon said with a faint smile. "Let's go — we're buying clothes today. Pick whatever you like."
Solomon didn't want Nisa to go see the floating image. If it wasn't Lin Lei, fine — but if it actually was him… given Nisa's personality, she would absolutely insist on finding Bei Bei. That would be trouble.
"Let's go watch the floating image," Nisa said.
Solomon shook his head. "Why would we watch the floating image? What, you still think Lin Lei is alive?"
"I don't know… Whether or not it's the Lin Lei we know, a floating image of a battle involving over ten Seven Star Demons is worth seeing in its own right." Nisa turned and walked away.
Solomon could only follow, thinking to himself, "That Lin Lei died long ago, and he was so weak. This super expert is incredibly powerful. It definitely isn't him. Just a coincidence of names!" Solomon had once wronged Lin Lei, and naturally didn't want to see him become so strong.
Beifei City had three dedicated venues for viewing floating images.
At present, crowds had gathered outside all three venues, each person paying with inkstone to gain entry to watch. When Solomon and Nisa arrived, they were surprised by the sheer number of people.
At the same time, people who had finished watching were filing out through the side entrances one by one.
"That was incredible! That Azure Dragon Elder is terrifying!"
"Right! Once that Azure Dragon Elder's blue prison closed in, and the prison dissipated, several of the enemy elders were all dead!"
Hearing the commentary around them, Solomon and Nisa grew ever more curious. They joined the queue, paid the 100-inkstone admission fee, and entered. There were six viewing halls in total.
"Go to Hall Five — it just finished, and will replay momentarily."
Solomon and Nisa entered Hall Five, found seats, and sat down. The hall was rapidly filling up. Nisa stared straight at the front of the hall, her body trembling slightly.
"Relax, Nisa," Solomon comforted her. "Don't get your hopes up too high."
Nisa said nothing.
Suddenly —
A massive amount of water-type elemental energy coalesced in midair at the front of the hall, forming into images. A voice rang out simultaneously: "Ladies and gentlemen, this battle took place on the Bloodpeak Continent, in the Youlan Prefecture, in a mountain forest roughly several thousand miles outside of Mer City."
The hall fell silent.
The narrator's voice continued: "The combatants in this battle were eleven Seven Star Demons! According to our deductions, within the Youlan Prefecture, only the Four Divine Beast Families and the Eight Great Families could possibly field this many experts. As it happens, the two factions were already locked in open conflict… Now, please begin watching. At the time of recording, one Seven Star Demon had already perished. His corpse lies on the ground, still emanating the power of a High God. Look carefully and you'll be able to see it."
With that, the floating image at the front of the hall began to play.
Everyone in the hall fell silent. Nisa and Solomon held their breath.
In the massive projection, two one-on-one duels appeared — the battles of Purss and Tewila respectively… But merely witnessing these two fights was enough to shock anyone watching for the first time.
Halos of light radiating from their bodies, and with every gesture, spatial cracks frequently tore open.
"Three of these four are using the power of High Gods!" Solomon was stunned.
"Where's Lin Lei?" Nisa asked urgently, searching the image. "Where's Bei Bei?"
However, the floating image at this point recorded only those two great battles. It also captured a gray-robed corpse lying on the ground, its body likewise emanating a halo of light — the Seven Star Demon whom Purss had killed at the very start.
Then…
The floating image shifted to the ground below, where the earth was undulating like waves. After a moment, the ground suddenly erupted, and a figure burst skyward in an instant. Blood stained the scales red… But both Nisa and Solomon were jolted.
Those savage spikes! That dragon tail! Those dark-gold eyes! It was all so familiar!
Behind him, five Seven Star Demons were in hot pursuit. Lin Lei's body was radiating a blue-green halo — the water-type power of a High God. Among the five Seven Star Demons behind him, one radiated a black halo.
"It's Lin Lei!" Nisa's heart surged with excitement.
"This…?" Solomon was also stunned.
They had both witnessed Lin Lei's dragon transformation before.
"Sis, it's Lin Lei. It's Lin Lei." Nisa could no longer contain her excitement, sending message after message through divine sense. "It's definitely him. I'm sure of it."
"Nisa, that's not necessarily true," Solomon countered through divine sense. "The Azure Dragon clan has a large population — it's perfectly normal for there to be similar-looking dragon transformations. Besides, in just over a thousand years, do you really think Lin Lei could have grown this powerful? Impossible."
