"That powerful?"
All of them were shaken by the strength of the Seven Star Demons. "If that's the case, the strength of a Seven Star Demon should be at the peak among High-tier Gods. I wonder if Greenfire has the strength of a Seven Star Demon," Lin Lei thought to himself.
"Oh, I came here to find you, and here we are talking about Demons," Pafet said quickly. "Lin Lei, I came today to find the three of you because there's something I want to ask."
"Oh, please go ahead, Mr. Pafet," Lin Lei said.
"Ask the three of us?" Bei Bei rubbed his chin and eyed Pafet sideways.
Pafet smiled. "To be precise, I'm asking the two of you." As he spoke, he pointed at Bei Bei and Dilia one after another.
"Oh?" Dilia was also a bit puzzled.
"Old man, what is it? Hurry up and say it," Bei Bei urged.
Pafet said, "In our Black Dragon Tribe, almost everyone who reaches Mid-tier God becomes a member of the tribe's guard army. You two have both already reached Mid-tier God, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in joining the tribe's army? Once you join the army, every ten thousand years, the Clan Lord bestows wealth upon you. That's much more comfortable than tending the Galed Black Dragons. Following those Black Dragons around all the time is exhausting."
"This?" Bei Bei hesitated and couldn't help but look at Lin Lei.
Dilia, however, smiled and said, "Mr. Pafet, we've just arrived at the Black Dragon Tribe and aren't yet familiar with many things. We're not in a rush to join the tribe's army."
"You won't earn wealth any faster doing other things," Pafet pressed. "I suggest you think it over."
"Mr. Pafet, let's talk about it later," Lin Lei said.
He had already planned to find an opportunity to go to the Blood Peak Continent. How could he stay in this Black Dragon Tribe forever? They were talking about a reward every ten thousand years. Ten thousand years was indeed not very long for a god. But for him, he couldn't wait that long.
"I was just mentioning it," Pafet said, not minding.
"Mr. Pafet," Lin Lei quickly asked further, "I'd like to ask — when will people from the tribe go to Imperial Wing City next?" Compared to here, Imperial Wing City certainly had more factions, and he might find a way to reach the Blood Peak Continent there.
"Go to Imperial Wing City?" Pafet paused. "Oh, our tribe goes to Imperial Wing City from time to time aboard a Metal Lifeform. Sometimes it's as short as a few years, but other times it's several thousand years before a trip."
Lin Lei's heart sank.
Several thousand years? He'd have to wait that long?
Pafet suddenly smiled. "Oh, I just remembered. Half a year from now, the tribe seems to be making a trip to Imperial Wing City."
"However, tribe residents who want to ride the Metal Lifeform along must pay five Inkstones per person," Pafet reminded Lin Lei and the others. He could already tell that the three of them were very eager to visit Imperial Wing City.
In truth, everyone who first arrived in Hell longed for the great cities within it.
"Thank you, Mr. Pafet," Lin Lei said, joy filling his heart. Only half a year.
After Pafet left, the three of them celebrated with fine wine in their courtyard. In Hell, fine wine was quite a luxury. Of course, Imperial Wing City had even more premium wines, but those were prohibitively expensive — a good bottle could cost as much as a Mid-tier Divine Spark.
"That Metal Lifeform ride costs five Inkstones per person!" Bei Bei cursed under his breath. "That's daylight robbery."
"The three of us, that's fifteen Inkstones," Dilia said, looking at Lin Lei. "It looks like we'll need to sell some divine artifacts."
Lin Lei possessed Low-tier, Mid-tier, and even High-tier Divine Artifacts. Most impressively, there was that High-tier Divine Spark. That single High-tier Divine Spark alone was enough to make Lin Lei a wealthy man in Hell. However... the three of them knew this wealth could not be revealed.
If anyone in the Black Dragon Tribe found out they had a High-tier Divine Spark, Lin Lei and the others probably wouldn't survive a single day!
"How about this — I still have four Low-tier Divine Artifacts on me. Let's go to the Clan Lord's castle and sell those four first," Lin Lei decided. "It's a bit of a loss, but there's no other way."
A Low-tier Divine Artifact could only sell for five Inkstones within the tribe. In Imperial Wing City, it would be purchased for seven. And in Imperial Wing City, reselling it to someone else would fetch ten. Low-tier Divine Artifacts were the cheapest and least valuable of the lot.
Once the decision was made, they acted.
After finishing their wine, the three of them flew straight to the black castle atop the highest peak of the mountain range. On the castle ramparts stood over a dozen Mid-tier Gods. Those warriors glanced down at the three of them below but said nothing.
The entire Black Dragon Tribe had fewer than twenty thousand residents, and they all knew each other.
"Lin Lei, you're here?" A figure walked out from a side gate of the castle — it was Pafet.
"Mr. Pafet, we're here to sell a few Low-tier Divine Artifacts," Lin Lei said.
Pafet nodded in understanding. "Oh, then follow me." With that, he led the way, entering the castle through the side gate.
Inside the castle, there was an even smaller castle within.
"The inner castle is where the lords reside; the outer castle is where the ordinary tribe warriors live," Pafet explained. "In the future, if you want to sell anything, just come in through the side gate and head to that shop. Ordinary tribe residents can freely enter the outer castle. The guards won't stop you."
Inside the black castle, tribe warriors could be seen everywhere.
"As expected, they're all Mid-tier Gods," Bei Bei remarked with admiration.
Lin Lei's gaze swept over the people in the distance. He knew they were all warriors of the Black Dragon Tribe — the ones who fought to resist and repel invasions from other tribes.
