Chapter 7: The End Arrives

The vast sky stretched endlessly, and the Holy Island of Light lay still and peaceful. Far off on the horizon, a massive swarm of phantoms came hurtling through the air at breakneck speed.

"Stop." Lin Lei's voice echoed through every powerhouse's mind, and instantly all of them halted several li from the Holy Island of Light. The Tyrant Dragon, Thunder Dragon, and Golden Dragon — three colossal dragons — drifted slowly through the sky, their massive bodies swaying.

At the head stood Lin Lei, Tulli, and Deslil, gazing down at the island below.

"This is the Holy Island. That's it," Tulli nodded.

Lin Lei and the others could feel the overwhelming aura of Light — just like the old Fenn City all those years ago.

"Let me and Dilia give them a welcoming gift first." The hatred that had been suppressed for so long filled Lin Lei's heart to the brim with killing intent.

"A welcoming gift?" Tulli, Deslil, and the host of powerhouses all looked at Lin Lei and Dilia.

Dilia and Lin Lei exchanged a glance. They had discussed how to attack the Holy Island late into the night before. Dilia immediately began silently reciting a magic incantation, and Lin Lei followed suit.

"Wind Forbidden Magic?" The crowd of powerhouses watched eagerly.

Dilia's eyes suddenly blazed with light, and her jade-like hands pointed toward the distant Holy Island of Light.

"BOOM~~"

A colossal storm dozens of li wide materialized out of thin air.

Within sight, countless streams of raging wind spiraled like tornadoes or lashed out like razor-sharp blades. The sea was completely churned into chaos!

Waves were hurled hundreds of meters into the air. With a deafening rumble, wave after wave surged forward like an army pressing on without regard for anything, crashing headlong toward the Holy Island. When they struck the island, those enormous waves smashed down like collapsing mountains.

"BOOM!" Under the impact of waves hundreds of meters high, the stone buildings simply shattered. Massive boulders and trees were blown to splinters by the terrifying storm, and vast numbers of Church of Light personnel were reduced to pulp.

Blown — or rather, pierced through by countless wind blades.

This was…

The Wind Forbidden Magic — Destruction Storm!!!

Wherever the Destruction Storm passed, not a blade of grass survived!

This was no ordinary tempest of nature, but a "Destruction Storm" formed of countless wind blades, large and small. Even massive boulders and ancient trees would be sliced into powder by the innumerable blades.

A milky-white radiance spread outward in all directions from the spire of the nine-tiered Temple of Light. A visible white barrier was constantly expanding, and wherever its coverage reached, the power of the Destruction Storm was dispelled and blocked.

"What's happening? Who's attacking?" The leader of the Fanatic Legion, "Thunderclap," seized a white-robed priest and roared.

"I don't know — I don't know!" The soaking wet priest seemed terrified by the Destruction Storm. He had just watched helplessly as others in the distance were pierced by the storm's countless wind blades, reduced to nothing but pulp and dust.

And then—

"RRRUMMMBLE~~~"

The entire Holy Island shook.

After the Destruction Storm, only a tenth of the island's personnel had survived. Most of those survivors were seventh- or eighth-level powerhouses. But even they were filled with dread when facing Forbidden Magic.

"What's happening to the ground?" Many Church members, drenched by the waves, could barely keep their footing.

"CRACK!" "BOOM!"

The trembling, quaking earth rippled outward in waves. Under the tremors, the ground split apart, and enormous fissures opened up. Screaming powerhouses plunged into the chasms. But that wasn't the worst of it—

The worst came from above, where countless boulders glowing with a yellowish-brown light rained down in a frenzy.

"BOOM!" Struck by the falling boulders, many Church members were crushed into paste.

"Lord!" some of the desperate Church members cried out to the sky, praying for salvation.

Then… even larger boulders smashed them flat, and brilliant crimson stained the ground. But the floodwater surging up from the cracks in the earth washed it all away again, and many half-crushed corpses floated along in the current.

"Damn you!" Thunderclap threw a punch, shattering the boulder above him into fragments.

But he had no time to save anyone else!

"Who is casting the Earth Forbidden Spell — 'Sky Cracks, Earth Splits'?!" Thunderclap roared inwardly.

The Earth Forbidden Spell — Sky Cracks, Earth Splits!

Nearly two-thirds of the entire Holy Island had sunk, leaving only the third centered around the Temple of Light. Even in that remaining third, the ground was riddled with massive cracks.

And the Temple of Light's protective barrier shrank once more.

They feared the enemy would cast yet another Forbidden Spell — and their fear was justified.

That was merely the appetizer. The handful of survivors saw their faces drain of color as the seawater flooding the Holy Island froze in an instant. A layer of ice spread across the cracked terrain, frost coating everything.

"CRACK!"

Every part of the Holy Island not protected by the Temple of Light's barrier was frozen and shattered on the spot. Countless boulders and chunks of earth crumbled to powder and then tumbled away into the ocean. The freezing and shattering of the rocks and earth was bad enough.

What was worse, many Church members left exposed by the shrinking barrier were frozen stiff, then shattered into fragments.

The Water Forbidden Magic — Absolute Zero!
