The five Buckley brothers immediately walked over, but Cise frowned impatiently, "Don't get so close, don't attract attention. Low key, low key!" The Buckley brothers could only smile sheepishly and greet Cise from a distance, subtle and understated.
"Tsk tsk."
Cise sipped his wine and immediately retreated to a corner of the hall. Whenever he ran into some envoy from a kingdom or empire, he'd raise his glass to them too. He showed none of the bearing one would expect from a God-level powerhouse.
"Cise." A cool, clear voice suddenly rang out.
Cise looked up, and an awkward smile crept across his face. The speaker was the Saintess of the Cathedral of Ice and Snow, Rosalind. Rosalind stared at Cise, letting out a few哼s through her nose, but said nothing more. Cise felt like he was sitting on pins and needles and could only put on a silly grin.
"You've already reached God-level, and you're still like this." There was actually a hint of mist in the eyes of this icy beauty.
Cise forced out a smile. "Rosalind, isn't it great that you're the Saintess? Oh, I'm just a vagabond, drifting wherever the wind takes me, enjoying myself wherever I please. I can't take care of you." Even as he said it, Cise felt a bitter taste in his heart.
"Lord Cise." Lin Lei had spotted Cise too.
"Don't go over there." Deslai held Lin Lei back, a knowing grin on his face. "Those two are a couple. What are you going over there for?"
"A couple? Isn't she the Saintess?" Lin Lei was taken aback.
"Who says the Saintess can't have a man?" Deslai glanced at Lin Lei. "Rosalind is nearly a God herself, and she's still serving the Cathedral of Ice and Snow. That's already giving them plenty of face." Deslai watched Cise and Rosalind in the distance with a cheerful smile.
Lin Lei and Dilia exchanged a knowing look and smiled. "Lin Lei, is that the Lord Cise you were telling me about?"
Lin Lei nodded.
"Seems like even this God-level powerhouse has emotional baggage," Dilia said, covering her mouth and laughing softly. Lin Lei shook his head with a smile too. "Lord Cise, well, how should I put it… he's a bit of a ladies' man."
The celebrations were boisterous that day, especially with Deslai's group, and George, Yeru, Rein, and the others. By the time Lin Lei had dealt with everyone, it was already well past midnight. Only then did he head toward the room he shared with Dilia.
Saint-level warriors had one advantage—after all that wine, Lin Lei wasn't the slightest bit drunk.
"Lin Lei?"
Before he even reached the door, someone called out to him. Lin Lei looked up to see Cise lying on the eaves, drinking. "Lin Lei, how did you go and get married? Sigh, when I heard you were getting married, I really felt sorry for you."
"Sorry for me?" Lin Lei was bewildered.
Cise stood up, his body drifting upward. "Sorry, because another man has walked into the grave!" With that, his figure soared high into the sky. "Well, congratulations on your wedding too. All right, I'm off." Cise's voice echoed in Lin Lei's ears.
Suddenly—
"You big pervert!" A crisp shout rang out, and an elegant figure in white shot out, chasing straight after Cise.
Cise's flying speed immediately surged. "Whew, it really is better to step into the grave." Lin Lei had a faint smile on his lips as he walked toward the bridal chamber. Before long, he arrived at the door. Two pretty maids stood waiting and politely opened the door for him.
Lin Lei waved his hand. "You're all dismissed."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
The quiet bridal chamber held only Dilia, sitting by the bed. At this moment, Dilia was perfectly still, simply gazing at Lin Lei, waiting for him to speak. At last Lin Lei opened his mouth. "Bei Bei, come out."
"Hehe, boss." Bei Bei actually emerged from under the bed.
"Bei Bei?" Dilia didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Bei Bei had disappeared early that day, and who would have thought he'd been hiding here all along.
Lin Lei looked at Bei Bei, torn between amusement and exasperation. "Bei Bei, what are you doing?"
"I was preparing a gift for you, boss." Bei Bei held his head high.
"A gift?" Lin Lei asked, puzzled.
Bei Bei flashed a grin and held out a small black stone with his tiny paw. "A good friend of mine gave me this—that purple-gold Saint-level mouse I told you about. I'm too small, I don't have much to my name, so my brother gave me this instead."
"What is this thing?" Lin Lei took the black stone, puzzled. "Could it be some kind of precious mineral? No, that doesn't make sense—what good is a tiny piece of ore?" He studied it carefully but couldn't see through it.
"I don't know either." Bei Bei handed it to Dilia. "Dilia, drip a drop of blood on it first."
"Drip blood?" Lin Lei raised an eyebrow.
