Murim Warrior

A murim warrior is a trained martial-arts master, a full citizen of the world of murim. A first-class warrior can easily stand on a splinter of wood and far surpasses an ordinary person in strength and speed. As the hero observes, without their art such a fighter is "no more than a corpse" — their whole life and standing rest on their command of internal energy.

Murim warriors are ranked by skill and by faction: righteous and unorthodox, elders and the younger generation. Even a righteous fighter, monk though he may be, can give in to rage like anyone else, and the deadliest threat waits within, in the form of the inner demon. Han Seojin, who has no martial art of his own, is always mindful that a first-class master may stand behind any of the women he speaks to.
