Just as the dwarf was feeling triumphant, and Han Li was secretly plotting, two more people leaped out from the Seven Mysteries Sect. They rushed straight towards the dwarf with lightning speed. They were the two remaining senior uncles of Wang Juechu.
The two had looks of deep sorrow on their faces. It was clear they were extremely grieved by the death of the burly man. Therefore, they deeply hated Jin Guang Shangren. Ignoring the fact that the dwarf was some 'Sword Immortal', they only wanted to kill him to avenge that man.
Sect Master Wang originally wanted to stop their reckless actions, but then he thought it over. This dwarf who knew magic was someone they had to face eventually, and these two uncles were the only ones who could possibly pose a threat to him. Rather than stopping them now, it was better to let them settle the score while their hearts were filled with the desire for revenge.
With that thought, Wang Juechu swallowed the words that were originally meant to call them back.
Having learned his lesson from the recent past, Jin Guang Shangren did not dare underestimate his opponent this time. He drove the grey light and pointed at the two, and the grey shimmer instantly transformed into a rainbow, flying straight towards them.
The Confucian scholar among the two opponents, seeing the grey light which seemed to be a flying sword flying towards him, raised his eyebrows and flicked his hand. A thin silver thread shot out from his sleeve. It met the grey radiance head-on, causing it to pause for a moment, but then the grey light continued rushing forward as if nothing had happened. It seemed the silver thread had not been very effective.
No one else could clearly see what the silver thread was, but Han Li, thanks to the superhuman eyesight granted by the Eternal Spring Technique, could see it clearly. It was clearly several dozen silver needles connected in a straight line. He didn't know what technique the scholar used to shoot such light and thin needles with such force. This greatly piqued Han Li's interest.
Seeing the silver thread had no effect, the scholar was not flustered. He bent his body and suddenly began to spin on the spot like a top. Immediately afterwards, countless cold gleams of various sizes burst out from his spinning form. These gleams divided into two streams. One stream turned into a silver torrent that directly collided with the grey light. It made a crackling sound and held the grey radiance suspended in midair, unable to descend. The other stream flew straight towards the dwarf, striking the golden barrier with a loud clanging sound. It was quite a spectacle.
The stream of cold light exchanging fire with the grey radiance continuously dropped debris. Because it was so damaged, it was impossible to tell what it originally was. However, the cold gleams that bounced off the golden barrier remained intact. They were all sorts of hidden weapons: flying knives, Bodhi seeds, iron lotus seeds, coin darts, and all kinds of other strange things, some of which were completely unrecognizable.
Jin Guang Shangren was slightly shocked, but then he curled his lip. He didn't think these common earthly metals could block his treasure for long.
"Ha!" A thunderous roar like a spring thunderclap rang through the venue, startling everyone.
It was then that everyone noticed that the grey-robed man who had rushed out with the scholar had, at some point, drawn the sword from his back and was now walking steadily towards the grey light, step by step. And from the tip of his sword, a white radiance over two inches long had emerged. It was fluctuating and shimmering, exuding an intense cold.
"Sword Aura!" someone was the first to shout out the name of the ultimate sword technique that all swordsmen dreamed of.
A loud uproar erupted, and everyone inside and outside the arena was buzzing with excitement!
If the flying sword was just a legend in hearsay, then the sword aura was a myth in the martial arts world, the ultimate aspiration of all swordsmen.
Now, not only had both a flying sword and a sword aura appeared one after another, but they were also about to clash in an immediate duel. How could this not make everyone present burn with excitement and feel that life was worth living!
Jia Tianlong, however, was far from excited. Instead, he felt a chill running down his spine and cold sweat pouring down his face. Only now did he understand the meaning of 'too late to realize' and felt an immense, lingering fear!
Although he knew before that the Seven Mysteries Sect had three hidden masters, he never imagined that these masters were skilled enough to unleash a sword aura. If he hadn't invited Jin Guang Shangren, this cultivator, to take action this time, he was terrified that this lone grey-robed man, who could use the sword aura, might be able to kill everyone on his side.
As Jia Tianlong stood there with a pale face, the grey-robed man had already arrived beneath the grey radiance.
At this moment, whether the scholar had done it intentionally or had truly run out of hidden weapons, his figure suddenly stopped spinning. The silvery stream holding back the grey radiance also stopped. With no resistance, the grey radiance naturally, and without any courtesy, descended directly towards the head of the grey-robed man.
The grey-robed man held his sword with both hands and leaped into the air without a trace of fear. Swinging his sword with the sword aura, he slashed viciously at the grey light.
With a clear "clang!", the grey-robed man fell from the mid-air to the ground. He staggered unsteadily and took several steps back. He then opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood, his expression turning weak and dispirited. As for the longsword in his hand, the front three inches of the blade had vanished, leaving it flat.
Having received this blow, the grey radiance also fell from the air into the dust like a bird that had been shot. But even so, the grey radiance had not lost its luster. It was still jumping and pulsing on the ground, seeming extremely spirited.
Seeing this scene, the people on Jia Tianlong's side and the Seven Mysteries Sect both cried out in shock. However, the shock of the Seven Mysteries Sect was filled with joy, while Jia Tianlong's side was filled with worry.
The scholar was overjoyed. He looked at the weakened grey-robed man, then glanced at the dwarf. After hesitating for a moment, he still floated his body and flew towards the dwarf, intending to deal with the primary enemy first.
Before the scholar could float more than a few steps, he suddenly heard the grey-robed man behind him shout, "Watch out!"
The scholar's heart jolted. He wanted to react, but he felt a chill at his neck. The grey light flashed before his eyes. Then he saw a headless body run forward a few steps before collapsing to the ground. The back looked terribly familiar. Just as he thought this, he completely lost consciousness.
Jin Guang Shangren was now brimming with pride. He directed the grey radiance, which had leaped up from the ground again, towards the only surviving one of the three masters: the grey-robed man. He was smugly pleased with himself for having killed the scholar with such a simple trick.
He was just considering finishing off the grey-robed man right away, and then wiping out all the remaining members of the Seven Mysteries Sect, when he suddenly heard a voice from the opposite crowd.
"I really like this flying thing of yours. How about giving it to me to play with?"
Before his words even faded, he felt a powerful surge of spiritual power attach itself to the grey light, forcibly severing his connection to it and seizing control.
As for the grey radiance that was originally flying towards the grey-robed man, it also made a turn in the air and flew crookedly towards the crowd on the opposite side.
Wherever the grey radiance passed, everyone panicked and scattered. Only a youth of about seventeen or eighteen years, with very ordinary features, did not move. The youth smiled at Jin Guang Shangren, revealing teeth that were perfectly white in stark contrast to his dark skin. He then pointed at the grey light, and the grey light obediently landed in his hand.
"A Cultivator!" The dwarf's heart ran cold, and his face instantly turned deathly pale.
