Jang Cheolyu is a somewhat frail-looking young man, the sweetheart of Ga Yeong. When Han Seojin needs to shelter for a time behind a false betrothal to Ga Yeong, he insists that Jang Cheolyu be told the truth: their 'engagement' is only a ruse, and once it is dissolved he must believe it and hold no grudge. So the humble suitor is drawn against his will into the hero's schemes.
Han Seojin makes the embarrassed Ga Yeong confess everything to Jang Cheolyu, so that the betrothal ruse will not break a real couple. Later Jang Cheolyu himself drives Han Seojin from the coachman's seat, remaining the modest man for whose happiness the hero set the whole game in motion.
