Leylin Farlier

Leylin Farlier is the protagonist of the novel. In his past life he was a scientist in a high-tech world; after dying, his mind — together with the AI chip he designed — is carried into the body of Leylin Farlier, a sickly boy of a noble house in the World of Magi. Keeping his memories and gaining a dispassionate calculating companion lodged in his very soul, he sets about methodically turning a weak body and a modest position into the foundation of future power from day one.

His creed is survival and strength at any price. Leylin is cold, ruthless and utterly calculating: he forms no attachments that might hinder his goal, and sacrifices enemies, allies and his own identities with equal composure. Awakening the Kemoyin Giant Serpent bloodline, he takes the Warlock path, founds the Faulen Empire and the Giant Serpent Church, leads the Ouroboros Clan, and under dozens of names — from the serpent-god Kukulkan to the Blood Monarch — climbs from the World of Magi into the World of Gods and beyond.

Leylin is the embodiment of cold pragmatism. He does not pretend to be kind and is not burdened by guilt: to him people and attachments are variables in an equation, to be spent for results. He keeps his emotions in check and makes decisions by expected gain, not by morality.

He is not reckless, though. Leylin avoids needless conflict, accumulates strength and influence quietly, and always keeps escape routes and spare identities ready. The few he deems truly useful or valuable he protects and elevates — but that too remains part of the calculation.

Leylin's chief advantage is a dispassionate AI chip carried over from his past life directly into his soul. The chip holds a vast knowledge base from his dead world, instantly computes complex magical formulas, weighs risks and optimises cultivation — utterly free of fear, excitement or doubt.

Relying on the chip, Leylin turns magic from an art into an exact science: he reduces others' secrets to formulas, models outcomes in advance and chooses the path of greatest expected gain. It is this union of human will and machine calculation that keeps putting him one step ahead of his rivals.

Awakening the Kemoyin Giant Serpent bloodline, Leylin takes the Warlock path — swift, but despised by ordinary Magi. He works methodically through the ranks, buying up artifacts, formulas and knowledge, building secret power bases and gathering clans and churches around himself.

In time Leylin operates under many names and guises: the serpent-god Kukulkan, milking the faith of an entire world; founder and emperor of the Faulen Empire; head of the Ouroboros Clan; the Blood Monarch and an Archdevil in the worlds below. Each identity is a separate tool in his ascent from the World of Magi into the World of Gods and onward, to a cosmic scale.
