Salamanders are a species of Magic Beast classified as B-rank. They are reptilian creatures that use mana to enhance their physical capabilities, making them a dangerous threat to Hunters below B-rank.
Their main habitat is the Paju Dungeon, a B-rank Gate that appeared in South Korea during the early days of the Gate phenomenon. The dungeon’s rocky, sweltering environment is ideal for these resilient Magic Beasts.
The Paju Dungeon raid was conducted by a strike team of Korean Hunters. The Korean Hunters Association oversaw the operation, aiming to clear the dungeon of its primary inhabitants and close the Gate.
After the raid, the Salamander population was eradicated and the Gate was sealed. The magic crystals harvested from the monsters were later sold through the Korean Hunters Auction, contributing resources to the Hunter economy.
