Descripción

Poisoned-Toothed Giant Desert Centipedes are a species of insect-type Magic Beast that inhabit desert dungeons such as the Penalty Zone and the Pyramid Field. They make their first appearance in Chapter 11 of the manhwa, serving as early adversaries for Hunters exploring these harsh environments.

These creatures possess enormous segmented bodies covered in chitinous armor, with dozens of legs allowing rapid movement across sand. Their most distinctive feature is a pair of toxic mandibles capable of injecting venom that causes paralysis and lingering damage, making them highly dangerous to unprepared opponents.

Giant Desert Centipedes are ambush predators, often burrowing beneath the dunes to launch surprise attacks. They typically roam in small groups, overwhelming targets with numbers and coordinated strikes. The venom's effects can quickly incapacitate even experienced E-rank Hunters, and their sturdy exoskeletons deflect weaker attacks.

For Sung Jin-Woo, these centipedes represent two critical milestones. He first faces them inside the Penalty Zone as punishment from the System, barely surviving through sheer determination. Later, during the Job Change Quest in the Pyramid Field, he deliberately hunts them, consuming their venom to build up poison resistance—a painful but essential step in his growth.

Beyond personal trials, they drop Poisoned Fangs that can be used in crafting antidotes or weapons. After Jin-Woo gains resistance and outlevels the centipedes, they become trivial foes, a reminder of his former weakness and a testament to how far the System’s training has brought him.
