"This still won't work!"
Leilin reluctantly put away the Destiny Gold Coin.
The conditions for forging a Destiny Gold Coin were extremely demanding, and this one had already suffered tremendous damage from attempting to divine information about a Morningstar Wizard. If it were truly destroyed, Leilin had no idea where he'd find another Child of Destiny for the blood sacrifice.
He could always replicate what he'd done before with Eilin — using low-level wizards to make predictions. But they couldn't divine anything about higher-level existences, and the risks involved were far too great.
Humans were creatures of infinite possibility. If a wizard Leilin selected suddenly stumbled upon some great fortune and advanced to the same level as him — and then divined Leilin in return — how could he continue operating?
So Leilin would rather use such an inanimate object. It was troublesome, but at least it was convenient and safe. That was what he valued most.
"With my third-level strength, I still encounter unpredictable dangers in the Frost World. It seems that place isn't one I can peer into just yet..."
Leilin had a clear sense of his own limits. Besides, he'd already brought most of the Dark Apex Domain under his control. There was no need to rush.
The Frost Caverns weren't going anywhere. Whatever was inside would eventually be his.
……
After the Dark Elves surrendered as a race, the only things left to handle in the Northern Domain were the goblins, dwarves, and a few remnants of wizard schools.
Leilin couldn't be bothered with all that. He simply relied on his overwhelming strength to crush everything in his path.
Within days, shocking news spread across the land.
The Eternal Glorifier, the Guardian of the Entire Dark Apex Domain, Lord Leilin, charged single-handedly into the dwarven stronghold of the Taling Caverns.
According to the rumors, this lord had relied solely on his personal power to rampage through, eventually forcing his way into the dwarven royal court itself.
Raging thunderbolts and a terrifying aura of death blanketed the area day and night. The battle raged for several days before finally subsiding.
From that point on, the dwarven royal court issued an announcement declaring that their supreme ruler, King Graybeard, along with several of his highest ministers, had "passed away due to illness." A young dwarven prince inherited the throne and immediately ordered a full military withdrawal.
The same thing happened to the goblin kingdom.
This time, enormous explosions visible to the naked eye battered their Mechanical Imperial Capital, reducing it to rubble. The three Colossus Giants — representing the pinnacle of goblin alchemy — were smashed into scrap metal. Numerous master craftsmen were abducted, and vast quantities of precious resources and advanced alchemical research documents were seized.
From then on, Leilin's reputation resounded throughout the entire Dark Apex Domain. Not only humans, but even the Dark Elves and goblins dared not speak his true name when referring to him, instead honoring him with the title — Guardian of Sacred Light!
His image was even incorporated into the myths and legends of other races, passed down as an impossibly powerful and terrifying existence.
Of course, the current Leilin hadn't thought that far ahead.
At this moment, he sat upon the most prestigious Golden Throne in Boti City, giving instructions to Ilun.
"All newly reclaimed resource nodes in the Northern Domain are to be prioritized for the wizard schools that have pledged loyalty to us or shown goodwill. As for all other gains — confiscate everything!"
Leilin hadn't come to conquer the Northern Dark Apex Domain out of the goodness of his heart. He was here to get rich.
The Northern Dark Apex Domain had been developed for many years and was extremely rich in various resources. Most of the wizard schools had perished during the wars, giving him the perfect excuse to seize their holdings.
As for those few who survived? He would only show special treatment to those who actively pledged loyalty. He had no intention of bothering with the rest.
"What about... the wizard factions that originally carved out their own territories here?" Ilun asked hesitantly.
The Northern Dark Apex Domain had once been so chaotic that not only had other races moved in, but wizard schools from elsewhere in the Dark Apex Domain had also sent forces to the region, attempting to seize resources. Some had even established small footholds and engaged in a prolonged standoff with the Dark Elves, stubbornly holding on.
This was only possible because Leilin had single-handedly killed the Dark Elves' High Matriarch. Otherwise, no amount of boldness would have convinced those schools to extend their reach here.
"Treat them the same way! And those stubborn factions that refuse to submit — arrest and put them on trial immediately on charges of treason and collaboration with the enemy. As for evidence? Contact Alesha. I'm sure she'll be more than happy to provide it!" Leilin said coldly.
This was naked elimination of dissent, but under Leilin's overwhelming power and his unassailable moral authority, everything proceeded in perfect order, with calm precision.
In truth, Leilin was developing the Northern Dark Apex Domain as the stronghold for Nature's Alliance.
In every other domain, wizard factions were deeply entrenched and interconnected. Inserting a mega-sized school would be extraordinarily difficult.
The expansion of the Nature's Alliance Academy in the Central and Eastern Domains had already reached its limits.
In the past, Leilin would have had only one option: expand outward. But now things were different. The wars had devastated the entire Northern Dark Apex Domain — not only had countless wizard schools been destroyed, but the great noble families had been wiped out to the last.
