Chapter 387: Discovering the Warlock

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,026 words

Xiling watched Leilin as he basked in the radiance of the Sun Stone, a look of faint enchantment in her eyes.

Leilin still possessed the appearance of a handsome young man, as though the passage of time could not leave the slightest mark upon him.

Bathed in a golden glow from head to toe, Leilin looked for all the world like a war god robed in gold.

And yet, this young man had already risen to the very summit of the Northern Dark Apex Domain! He commanded a degree of power that ordinary people could scarcely imagine!

"How did the experiment go?" Xiling asked.

"Not bad!" A smile still lingered on Leilin's face, yet a hint of gloom lurked beneath it, prompting Xiling to wisely hold her tongue and ask no more.

Leilin's hands roamed over Xiling's body, but his thoughts had drifted far away.

Having been supplemented by a vast quantity of advanced Meditation Methods, the Chip's Meditation Method database was now nearly comprehensive — it had even deduced portions of the fourth layer of the Comorin Eye!

But Leilin was still somewhat uneasy. He planned to continue searching for the original Comorin Eye Meditation Method in order to compare and refine his version.

When it came to matters that touched upon the soul, one could never be too careful.

If the progress with his Meditation Method could be considered welcome news, then developments on another front had entirely soured Leilin's mood. He glanced at his status panel.

"Leilin Farell — Warlock, Rank Three. Bloodline: Comorin Giant Serpent. Strength: 23.6. Agility: 20.1. Constitution: 35.7. Spirit: 206.5. Mana: 206 (Mana synchronously determined by Spiritual Power)."

"Fifteen years! A full fifteen years! Progress on the Meditation Method has been virtually negligible. If not for the Chip's data, I would have thought it had stalled entirely..."

Leilin's expression turned grim. Over the course of those fifteen years, he had remained stuck at the threshold of Rank Three Warlock, never even reaching the vaporization stage of Spiritual Power. That pace of advancement had infuriated him beyond measure.

Leilin did enjoy the finer things in life, but that was merely a respite between his pursuits of greater strength. Even though his power already left him without a single rival across the entire Northern Dark Apex Domain — he could rest easy playing the part of a local emperor forever — was that truly the life he aspired to?

Until he climbed to the absolute pinnacle and grasured the mightiest of powers, Leilin had no intention of slowing his steps.

"The Northern Dark Apex Domain's resources are adequate for first- and second-rank Wizards, but for a third-rank Wizard, they fall rather short... Moreover, according to the Chip's calculations, advancing to a Rank Three Vaporization Wizard requires a specialized Vaporization Wizard Array — and such a thing clearly does not exist in the Northern Dark Apex Domain!"

Leilin continued to ponder. "And then there's the Comorin Eye Meditation Method. Though the Chip has already deduced a portion of it, it would still be best to obtain the genuine original for reference."

"None of these things can be found in the Northern Dark Apex Domain!"

Leilin steeled his resolve, and the beauty at his side let out a soft, breathy gasp.

When Leilin came back to his senses, he realized his hand seemed to have wandered to somewhere rather deep, sending Xiling into waves of panting breaths.

He didn't share his plans with Xiling. Instead, he simply pulled the beauty into his arms and rolled fiercely onto the bed…

……

After indulging himself thoroughly, Leilin didn't continue to lose himself in pleasure. He also declined Xiling's proposal to summon the Wizards of the Nature Alliance Academy. Instead, he departed the place in a very low-key manner and began traveling throughout the entire Northern Dark Apex Domain.

On the one hand, Leilin was curious about the Northern Dark Apex Domain — after all, he had never properly toured it before, and imagining it solely from maps and the Chip's collected data was far too one-sided.

More importantly, however, Leilin wanted to try his luck. Perhaps he might stumble upon some relic left behind by an ancient Wizard!

Out of habit, Leilin also turned down Xiling's offer to accompany him, setting off on the journey alone.

During this time, his footsteps ranged far and wide across the Northern Dark Apex Domain. He ventured deep into the lairs of Dark Beasts, traveled to the very edge of the continent, and beheld the boundless ocean of magma that stretched to the horizon.

On the road, Leilin disguised himself as an unremarkable wandering Wizard. With the guidance of the Chip and the Destiny Gold Coin, he did uncover a number of inheritances and the like.

But unfortunately, they were all minor finds — negligible for the current Leilin.

As for the more dangerous places, locations as terrifying as the Frost World and the Wailing Ghost Domain — places so extreme that even using the Destiny Gold Coin would damage it — those were not somewhere the current Leilin could venture into.

Still, trusting the feeling in his heart and the faint, intermittent guidance of the Destiny Gold Coin, Leilin continued to wander.

Thick darkness always shrouded the earth, and only the lamplight on the carriage tenaciously held on, illuminating a patch of the surrounding land.

"So that Ephii Grand Canyon really is a ruin left behind by a Morning Star Wizard?"

Inside the carriage, Leilin was chatting with another wandering Wizard.

At this moment, Leilin had suppressed the terrifying third-rank aura on his body and made slight adjustments to his appearance. Outsiders would never recognize him as the legendary Guardian of Glory.

After all, he had no desire to be the center of attention wherever he went.

Right now, he was happily conversing with a wandering Wizard he had only just met.

"That's right! I once excavated the outermost layer of the ruins and found some of the carvings from that era… And among the local indigenous relief cultures, this event is also recorded…"

A thin old Wizard with blue hair and a goatee spoke with great excitement.
