The eleven magic beams hammered the fortress walls in relentless succession, making the entire area feel as though the earth itself were shaking. The deafening roars of each explosion pounded into everyone's hearts, one after another, like the very end of the world.
Devastation!
Shock!
Helplessness!
Everyone stared, dumbfounded, as the Starlight Fortress was completely swallowed by the brilliance of the magic pulse beams, with spatial cracks scattering across the sky.
"This airship is way too powerful!" The Scarlet Witch gazed at the Starlight Fortress shrouded in the magic beams off in the distance, unable to keep from clicking her tongue.
It was one thing for a single magic pulse cannon to pack such devastating firepower, but for an airship to carry twelve of them was practically on par with an aerial fortress.
She suddenly felt a twinge of relief that she hadn't actually fought Shi Feng and his group back then.
If a real battle had broken out, even with their Divine Will Tribe's Tier 4 Heroic Spirit Summoning Scroll, the entire Silver Lion Legion probably wouldn't have made it out of the Magic Silver Mine alive.
It wasn't just the Scarlet Witch and her companions who were shaken by the display. Everyone from the adventuring party currently fighting near the Starlight Fortress's main gate had been stunned into silence.
A single magic pulse cannon could deliver devastating damage across a fifty-yard radius, and twelve shots fired in succession would obliterate everything in their path. Forget their five-hundred-man team — even a five-thousand-man team wouldn't survive a barrage like that.
"Who the hell are these people?"
Beyond the shock and fear, everyone present couldn't help but feel curious about Shi Feng and his group.
Their Storm Heart Adventuring Party was no small-time outfit. As a top-tier party that had witnessed plenty of grand battles and fought in numerous campaigns against monster hordes, they were well known across the Golden Sand Kingdom and the surrounding nations.
They had even assisted superpowers in capturing monster-controlled towns.
Yet compared to the scene unfolding before them, all of that was utterly insignificant. Even those superpowers couldn't hold a candle to what they were witnessing.
"Are they actually planning to assault the Starlight Fortress?" The cold-faced man wielding a greatsword stared at the Red Dragon airship hovering in midair, disbelief flickering in his eyes.
Star Valley was already a forbidden zone of life, and the fortresses within it were forbidden zones within forbidden zones — places no current player could hope to reach.
After all, the monsters inside the fortress were generally Level 110 or above, numbering over two hundred thousand, with several Legendary monsters above Level 110 roaming its grounds. Slaying current Tier 3 experts would be as easy as child's play.
Even the major superpowers had so far only conducted simple explorations around the fortresses in Star Valley. To actually capture one, they would likely need at least a thousand Tier 3 Class players from each superpower before it even became feasible.
And the hardest part wasn't even the monsters inside.
The truly difficult task was punching an opening in the fortress. Without that, players couldn't even get inside, let alone kill the guardian boss to obtain a fortress token.
"It looks like they really are," the burly man who served as party leader said, gazing at the Red Dragon airship hovering above, unable to fully conceal his surprise and wariness. "Otherwise they wouldn't be attacking the Starlight Fortress directly."
He had originally assumed Shi Feng and his group were simply clearing mobs in the area and had brought out the airship to intimidate them.
He never expected them to actually attempt to capture the Starlight Fortress — a place not a single superpower dared to touch right now.
This was absolutely insane!
Before anyone could recover from the barrage of eleven consecutive magic pulse cannon shots, the radiance enveloping the Starlight Fortress began to fade. The fortress walls were now riddled with massive cracks visible to the naked eye, and every single Great Lord-tier Elemental Guardian stationed on the bombarded sections had been wiped out, leaving gaping empty stretches across the wall.
"Such incredible power! A single volley of cannon fire, and they managed to damage the fortress walls to this extent?" Makafrey stared at the web of cracks running across the walls, his eyes blazing with excitement.
There was a chance!
There was absolutely a chance!
