"Shouldn't only the small fry be coming out?"
"Why is the boss guarding the fortress appearing too?"
"How is this fortress boss so strong? Aren't Domain-level Legendary monsters supposed to be the World Bosses that guard entire regions?"
The appearance of the Starlight Beast stunned everyone present. They stared at the massive, semi-transparent creature that looked like condensed starlight, their eyes no longer filled with the earlier elation over their ability to breach Starshine Fortress — only terror remained.
Domain-level Legendary monsters were, to the knowledge of each major superpower, extremely rare. Every single one was a disaster-class existence, the kind of monster that could anchor an entire map region.
Even some World Bosses at level ninety-odd were nothing more than Domain-level Legendary monsters.
And none of the major superpowers had any solution for those level ninety-odd World Bosses. Not even special measures worked — encountering one meant total annihilation.
Because once a Domain was deployed, no one could withstand it!
This was exactly why Tier 3 NPCs were completely outclassed by Tier 4 NPCs. Even ganging up didn't help.
Under the influence of a Domain, all attributes were suppressed. Even the use of magical skills suffered severe interference. Being able to wield even half your true strength was already impressive. Meanwhile, those who could deploy a Domain of their own received all manner of enhancements within it.
Even between combatants of equal strength, the combined effect of suppression and boost created a qualitative gap in power — let alone against Legendary Bosses that were already overwhelmingly powerful to begin with.
"Team Leader, we need to withdraw immediately! Once a level-100 Domain-level Legendary Boss shows up, no one can stop it. If we don't run now, we'll all be wiped out too," the cold-eyed man from Heart of the Storm urged his team leader Kurolo upon witnessing the scene.
At this moment, forty to fifty thousand monsters were pouring out of the fortress, and with a Domain-level Legendary Boss that could enhance all monster attributes like a general commanding an army, forget about eliminating the Silver Lion Legion's eight thousand troops — they could probably conquer an entire guild city.
Right now, all the elemental monsters inside the fortress still had their sights set on the Red Dragon Airship. That gave them at least some chance to escape. Once those monsters finished off the Red Dragon Airship and everyone in the Silver Lion Legion, it would be their turn.
"It looks like it's over. Sound the retreat — everyone pull out!" Kurolo, the leader of Heart of the Storm, glanced at the Starlight Beast and immediately ordered the cold-eyed man with the greatsword.
He had originally wanted to stay behind and witness the historic moment of Starshine Fortress being conquered. But now it was all over.
Because among all the known major superpowers, not a single one — one could even say not even the legendary five great mega-guilds — had ever conquered a level ninety-odd Domain-level World Boss. Let alone this level-113 Domain-level Legendary monster standing before them now.
Starlight Beast (Torreander), Lord of the Domain, Starlight Being, Legendary Grade, Level 113, HP: 4,000,000,000.
Never mind the raw stats of a Legendary monster on their own — that staggering 4 billion HP alone was enough to crush everyone's will to fight.
Consider that with 4 billion HP, natural combat recovery alone restored 40 million HP every five seconds. If your damage per second didn't exceed 8 million, you couldn't even scratch the Starlight Beast.
A level-100 Legendary monster was extremely difficult for Tier 2 Class players to deal even ten thousand points of damage to. Against a Domain-level Legendary monster, don't even bother. Only Tier 3 Class players could hope to deal five-figure damage, given the enormous gap in defense between the two tiers.
Otherwise, the major superpowers could simply use human-wave tactics to grind down those Legendary Bosses.
Assuming a Tier 3 Class player could deal 20,000 DPS to the Starlight Beast, you would still need a full four hundred Tier 3 Class players. And where were you going to find four hundred Tier 3 Class players?
Even having a Red Dragon Airship wouldn't help, since it was a weapon of war. It could handle the small fry well enough, but against a Legendary monster with high intelligence that could move through the air, it would be nearly impossible to land a hit. On top of that, the Magic Pulse Cannon had a long cooldown and was of very limited use for actually taking down a Legendary Boss.
While Heart of the Storm was preparing to retreat, the Silver Lion Legion was in a panic of their own as the Starlight Beast closed in.
"Vice Commander, that Starlight Beast is moving too fast! It's impossible for us to evacuate everyone safely now — we have to leave some forces behind to hold it off. Give the order quickly!" The Crimson Witch watched the rapidly approaching Starlight Beast and turned urgently to Vice Commander Macafrey.
