Chapter 1906: The Ring of Destiny

"Guild Master, what kind of ring is this? I can feel the magic power within a twenty-yard radius becoming noticeably denser all of a sudden." Shuisè Qiángwēi stared at the Ring of Destiny that Shi Feng had just taken out, her voice filled with surprise.

Every last drop item had already been collected into Shi Feng's backpack space. Just a moment ago, there had been no visible change in the surrounding area, but the instant Shi Feng produced the Ring of Destiny, the ambient magic power within a twenty-yard radius around him surged dramatically.

In the Divine Realm, items that could draw out magic power were exceedingly rare, and she had witnessed a few such cases before. However, never once had she seen anything increase the density of an entire area's magic to this degree.

It seemed that the enormous mountain of loot that had dropped earlier, and all the magic it had stirred up, had really been caused by this one ring all along.

"The Ring of Destiny," Shi Feng said calmly. "A ring that can lead a player to the pinnacle."

"Lead a player to the pinnacle?" Shuisè Qiángwēi frowned in confusion at his words.

An exceptional weapon or piece of equipment could certainly boost a player's strength considerably and make future development far easier. But even a Legendary-grade fragment had only very limited impact on a player's overall trajectory.

For a single ring to carry a player to the pinnacle of power — that sounded like nothing more than a joke.

As a former honorary elder of the first-rate guild Twilight Echo, she understood better than most just how difficult it was for any player to reach the top of the virtual gaming world. It was not something one or two pieces of top-tier equipment could accomplish, let alone in the hyper-competitive environment of the Divine Realm.

But Shi Feng simply smiled at her question and offered no further explanation.

The Ring of Destiny itself was not particularly powerful — in fact, it could be called outright weak. Beyond its basic stats, it possessed only a single skill, and even those basic stats were nothing more than ordinary Epic-grade quality.

If any player obtained it, they would likely feel that the Ring of Destiny was an insult to the Legendary-grade fragment tier it belonged to.

Yet at one auction, a first-rate guild had purchased this ring, and the result was that the guild master who equipped it saw his fate completely transformed — vaulting to the absolute pinnacle of power in the Divine Realm, remaining among the elite even after ten years of operation.

At the time, every major guild had been green with envy, and the superpower that had sold the ring deeply regretted letting it go.

The reason was entirely the Ring of Destiny's one and only skill — Destiny Guide.

This skill was extraordinarily powerful, capable of leading a player toward opportunities. The opportunities could be large or small: on the smaller end, one might obtain an Iron Rank weapon or piece of equipment suited to the player; on the larger end, a Legendary-grade fragment tailored to the player. However, there was one significant drawback — every use of Destiny Guide came at an enormous cost.

It required one unit of Seven Luminaries Crystal just to activate Destiny Guide and point the player toward an opportunity.

Seven Luminaries Crystal was a critical resource for constructing mental spaces, and every major guild treated it as a priceless treasure, never willing to sell it on the open market.

The major powers that first obtained the Ring of Destiny would inevitably try it out of curiosity, but they would quickly discover the truth: it was a trap.

An enormous trap, bottomless and unforgiving…

In truth, out of every hundred uses of the Ring of Destiny, more than ninety would yield nothing more than Iron Rank weapons, equipment, or items. Of the remainder, most would be Mythril Rank, and perhaps one or two might reach Gold-grade. But how precious was Seven Luminaries Crystal?

For any major guild, a single unit of Seven Luminaries Crystal was worth more than a Dark-Gold weapon or piece of equipment. Dark-Gold gear was relatively easy for large organizations to acquire, but obtaining even one unit of Seven Luminaries Crystal was exceedingly difficult.

Spending one hundred units of Seven Luminaries Crystal only to receive a pile of junk was more than anyone could stomach, which was why the Ring of Destiny had been passed from hand to hand multiple times, with that particular first-rate guild happening to be its final owner.

And that guild had not spent all that many units — perhaps only a few dozen in total — before landing a massive opportunity that yielded a Legendary-grade fragment.
