"Dead?"
"One-shot!"
For a moment, everyone present was too stunned by the sudden scene to react. The exchange between Huo Wu and Lei Jingyang had been incredibly fast—lightning speed, one could say. No one even knew what had actually happened. Lei Jingyang had been perfectly fine just a moment ago, and the next, he was dead...
This was especially true for the Thunder Legion members who had been trailing not far behind Lei Jingyang. They knew all too well how powerful Lei Jingyang was. Not only was he equipped with a full three Epic-grade items, he was also one of only three Second-Order Class players in the entire Heaven Burial guild. His HP exceeded fifty-three thousand, which was no less than what top-tier First-Order MTs of the same level could muster.
If it were these First-Order Class experts among them stepping up—even if a dozen or twenty attacked together, Lei Jingyang probably wouldn't have bothered breaking a sweat. Yet now their guild leader had been killed in a single strike by an assassin—no matter how you looked at it, it felt completely unreal.
Only Shi Feng knew that such a thing was not impossible. After all, Huo Wu was wielding a fragment of a Legendary-grade item, something no Epic-grade weapon could hope to compare to. Moreover, the Assassin class was renowned for its burst damage output—damage within a very short time frame that simply could not be matched by any other class.
Taking a direct hit from Huo Wu's most powerful Second-Order burst skill—forget about Lei Jingyang the Berserker, even a Second-Order Guardian Knight or Shield Warrior of the same level could have been felled.
With Lei Jingyang dead, the Heaven Burial members momentarily panicked, unsure of what to do. Because of his death, the five High Grand Lord-level evil demons he had summoned also dissipated into nothing. For the members of the Heaven Burial guild, this was adding insult to injury.
The strength of Ke Le and the other two had already been seared into the hearts of the Heaven Burial members. They certainly didn't consider themselves to possess power surpassing that of High Grand Lord-level evil demons.
"Trash! Taken out so quickly." Huo Yun watched as Lei Jingyang lay on the ground, his body beginning to dissolve into motes of starlight, and furrowed his brows. He hadn't expected Zero Wing to have a Second-Order Class assassin lying in ambush. He immediately shouted in the guild chat, "Everyone, pull back! Leave the teleportation zone for now—we'll enter from somewhere else!"
At the current level, becoming a Second-Order Class player was extremely difficult. Even for their Black Water guild, relying on all the guild's resources, the experts who had successfully changed to Second-Order Classes were exceedingly rare.
Yet Zero Wing, apart from three MTs, actually had an assassin who had also successfully changed classes—that truly caught him off guard.
Originally, with five High Grand Lord-level evil demons, they could have held their own against Zero Wing. Now Lei Jingyang was dead, and the demons were gone too. Even with an absolute numerical advantage, their morale had completely crumbled against Zero Wing. Continuing the fight would mean no chance of victory whatsoever.
The only option was to stop clashing with Zero Wing and temporarily withdraw from the teleportation zone. That way, Zero Wing wouldn't pursue them too far. The teleportation zone's slots were limited—if they left and the remaining slots happened to fill up just right, it would be a wasted opportunity. This way, they could bide their time and look for an opening to rush into the zone from another direction.
After all, the competition had only just begun. Even though the major superpowers had sent more experts this time, no one could hope to monopolize the teleportation slots.
But just as Huo Yun was leading his people to pull back, a gleaming dagger suddenly materialized behind him. It transformed into a streak of silver light that pierced through the air, thrusting straight for Huo Yun's back.
"Another assassin?!" Huo Yun's eyes widened.
However, facing this sudden ambush, there was no time to block or dodge. But relying on his extraordinary instincts, he used a Flash to evade the strike at the very last instant, instantly appearing fifteen yards away. His expression dark as he glared at the figure who had ambushed him.
This figure was not Huo Wu, who had ambushed Lei Jingyang earlier, but rather a sharp-looking young man.
This person was none other than Fei Ying.
