The members of the Blackwater guild stared with mouths agape at Huo Yun, who had been blasted to death by Shui Se Qiangwei.
As one of the exceedingly rare Tier-2 class holders in the guild, Huo Yun was one of Blackwater's top experts. Whenever they sparred against him, they were usually the ones getting one-shotted. Now, seeing Huo Yun himself instant-killed — it felt like some kind of joke.
Tier-2 classes were fundamentally different from Tier-1, with far more severe class suppression. Moreover, as an Elemental Master, Huo Yun had access to several passive skills that boosted magic resistance, giving him considerable damage reduction against magical attacks.
Yet he had still been instant-killed by a magic skill. There were only two possible explanations: either the opponent had activated a burst skill and used a Tier-1 Forbidden Spell to achieve the one-shot, or the opponent was also a Tier-2 class.
When a player activated a burst skill, burst effects would manifest on their body. While some effects were obvious and others subtle, the moment they were activated, the player's aura would surge dramatically, making it easy to detect.
Clearly, Shui Se Qiangwei, standing not far away, showed no burst effects whatsoever. If her aura had suddenly spiked, they — as experts — would have noticed immediately. It would have been as obvious as a bright lantern suddenly igniting in the middle of darkness.

A Tier-2 MT was only formidable in tanking, with very low damage output. But a Tier-2 magic damage dealer was an entirely different story. Magic classes already had extremely high damage, and in area-of-effect scenarios, no other class could compare. Advancing to Tier-2 further enhanced those capabilities, turning them into walking artillery platforms.
In terms of pure teamfight capability, a Tier-2 magic-class surpassed every other Tier-2 class by a significant margin.
Just as everyone was still reeling from Huo Yun's death, Shui Se Qiangwei, standing nearby, finished inscribing and chanting the incantation for yet another Tier-2 spell — Domain of Water.
Instantly, centered on Shui Se Qiangwei, a body of water with a seventy-yard radius materialized. Every Heavenly Burial and Blackwater member within the water domain saw their base stats plummet like mad, dropping to seventy percent in the blink of an eye. Then, twelve massive water serpents, each seven or eight meters tall, emerged and let out ear-splitting roars that echoed throughout the tower.
Each water serpent possessed power approaching that of a same-level Great Lord. Under Shui Se Qiangwei's control, they lunged at the Heavenly Burial and Blackwater members one after another.
Unlike standard area-of-effect spells, Domain of Water was a domain skill. With proper control during attacks, it didn't indiscriminately damage friend and foe alike the way AoE magic did.
Attacks approaching Great Lord-level power were extremely difficult for Tier-1 experts to withstand — only same-level MTs could hope to survive. But the water serpents were all under Shui Se Qiangwei's precise control, making their attacks agile and unpredictable, nothing like the clumsy movements of an actual Great Lord. Any MT struck by them instantly lost over twenty thousand health points. Against an MT whose base stats had already dropped by thirty percent, just two hits would bring down a level-50 MT.
And in the mere moments that Shui Se Qiangwei had used Domain of Water, the four level-50 MTs charging at the front were swallowed whole. The healers in the back didn't even have time to cast…
