The third floor was the most dangerous level. The things in the elevator had all seemed to end up there in the end.
The corridor looked empty, but if you shifted your perspective just slightly, you might see it packed with people.
"The curtains in this building are grayish-black. The red thing that drifted across my neck just now definitely wasn't a curtain. It was most likely the monster from the second-floor security room that had chased me here."
Red spirits were on an entirely different level from ordinary ghosts, so the moment
Without any employees to back him up, Chen Ge stood absolutely no chance against a red spirit. He knew it perfectly well: the handful of nails in his hand posed no threat whatsoever to something like that.
"The first floor seems fine for now. The second floor is hiding a red spirit. So what's waiting on the third floor?"
The experiment building was just one of the many structures in this ghost school, yet this unremarkable four-story building alone was already pushing Chen Ge to his limits.
"The school was still maintaining a normal facade, at least on the surface. The lights had only been off for a little while — it was nowhere near the worst of it yet."
Chen Ge was growing increasingly certain that this was the Psychic Ghost School. Its level of terror surpassed every school he had visited before.
"No matter what, shaking off that red spirit comes first."
Chen Ge headed toward the room on the far side of the corridor. He had barely taken a single step when his shoulder bumped into something.
"I ran into someone?"
His pupils contracted. Chen Ge activated his Yin Eyes. Through them, the corridor appeared pitch black — not a soul in sight.
"That was absolutely not a hallucination. My shoulder definitely hit something."
He tried taking another step forward. This time it wasn't just his shoulder — his arm and his calf both made contact with something.
"This corridor really is packed full of people, isn't it?"
Whether or not people were standing here no longer mattered to Chen Ge. He forced his way through the middle of the corridor, "squeezing" between the invisible bodies. Just as he was about to reach the room on the opposite side, the door ahead of him suddenly slammed shut from the inside!
There was no warning whatsoever. The half-open door simply closed on its own.
His heart went cold. Chen Ge reacted instantly, making a beeline for the adjacent room — but before he could get there, the door to that room also swung shut.
"The things inside don't want me getting in?"
At the same time, as if responding to some silent signal, every open door along the entire corridor slammed shut from within.
A faint stench drifted in from somewhere, flooding Chen Ge's nostrils. He had smelled this same odor back in the elevator.
"That smell again."
Chen Ge pressed his back against the wall. The stench crowded around him, as though he were surrounded by "corpses" at this very moment.
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
The knocking came from behind him. Chen Ge turned to look — the sound was coming from the very room he had just fled.
"The red spirit is knocking! I can't stay here!"
The doorknob rattled slightly, as if whoever was inside was twisting it. The red spirit might appear before him at any moment.
"Why does this thing keep chasing me? Is it because I took its clothes?"
Chen Ge reached into his backpack and pulled out the work uniform he had found in the security room wardrobe.
