"My haunted house now has an emergency medical team. Safety is fully guaranteed. Uncle Xu no longer needs to worry about me scaring the visitors into a medical emergency."
A haunted house had to possess something that could withstand the test of time — something scalable, unique, and difficult for competitors to replicate — to stand out in the fierce market competition.
Chen Ge felt his haunted house had completely achieved this. Looking across Jiujiang, and even the entire south-central region, no other haunted house could hold a candle to his.
"This is the core competitiveness of an enterprise."
Tonight's trial mission had yielded rich rewards.
"As long as I can hold out against Virtual Future Park's poaching of visitors and the numbers don't fall off a cliff, that counts as a win."
His opponent was coming on strong. This was a contest between a physical park and a virtual one. From the intelligence he'd gathered,
"Less than three weeks left." Time was tight, but Chen Ge wasn't overly worried. The haunted house was constantly improving. Once four-star horror scenarios appeared down the road, there might be a qualitative leap.
Outside, Chen Ge found a handcart used for transporting corpses and loaded the two crematorium workers onto it. Just as he picked up Gao Ruxue and prepared to lay her on the cart as well, a piercing chill suddenly hit his back.
"There seems to be one vengeful spirit who hasn't returned…"
Black hair reached out from behind Chen Ge, and something ice-cold pressed against his spine.
A matter of life and death. Chen Ge decisively tossed Gao Ruxue onto the corpse cart and then stood perfectly still, behaving himself.
The icy sensation on his back didn't fade. The girl behind him seemed to want to walk into his body, to take up residence in his heart.
His heart felt as though it had frozen, beating slower and slower. Chen Ge's body stiffened. He knew that if this continued, he definitely wouldn't live to see tomorrow's sun.
"
Chen Ge turned around. A figure in red stood right behind him.
Zhang Ya had her head bowed, her black hair curtaining half of her pale face. No one knew what she was thinking.
"This should be our second date, right?" Chen Ge raised his hand naturally, gently stroking Zhang Ya's black hair. "It's only been a few days, but it feels like I haven't seen you in so long."
He sat down beside the corpse cart and stretched. Zhang Ya stood in place for a long while before slowly drifting over to the cart as well. Blood dripped from her as she hesitantly sat down next to Chen Ge.
"Our first date was in an abandoned school campus. Our second date is in an underground morgue. Both times left a deep impression on me."
Chen Ge scooted a little closer to Zhang Ya, pressing their bodies together. He felt that bone-piercing cold, lowered his head slightly, and looked at Zhang Ya's face.
Neither of them spoke. In this grim, terrifying morgue reeking of formaldehyde, one person and one ghost sat side by side, enjoying a long-overdue moment of tranquility.
"Were you hurt today?" Chen Ge leaned against Zhang Ya's shoulder and said softly.
