Howdy, it's
Right now, Lord Rimuru has me locked in punishment mode. He's calling it "Straw-Powered
There's no pain or anything, though. I'm just dangling there all limp and relaxed, and honestly, it's kind of comfy.
The thread stretches and contracts, so I can actually move my body around.
But it doesn't look like thrashing about will snap the thread, and all the swinging just makes me dizzy, so I realized a little while ago that it's smarter to stay still.
That said, what really hurts is being left behind.
Going out to a nighttime spot without me — just Lord Rimuru and the others — that's just cruel. I wanted to be taken along too, you know…
Still, this sure is boring.
There's no way I can free myself, so the only option would be to summon my partner, the Tempest Wolf, and have him get me out.
But y'know, as if I could do something like that!
Even Captain Rigul can't pull it off, so if it were that easy, nobody'd have any trouble at all. That's the thing.
This has gotta be Lord Rimuru's crafty little scheme to mess with me. I only dozed off for a bit, so I think he's being stingy. If I said that out loud, Captain Rigul and Village Chief
That said, there's no real pain or discomfort. Other than being bored out of my mind, there's no problem.
When you get right down to it, Lord Rimuru really is kind. I think that's the reason everyone is so devoted to him.
Well, once tomorrow rolls around, he'll probably come back and let me down. It's just one night to tough it out.
Wait a minute.
A whole night went by and it's broad daylight, but Lord Rimuru and the others still aren't back.
Did something happen? Maybe they're out sightseeing and crashed somewhere for the night. But still…
Honestly, I'm getting hungry, and I really want them to come back soon…
This is bad…
Three days have passed and Lord Rimuru and the others still haven't shown up.
I'm worried. But honestly, I can't afford to worry about other people right now.
Right now. I myself am facing a critical emergency!
The hunger is rough enough, but something far more important and far more serious has come up.
Rumble rumble rumble…
My stomach hurts…
I had to go, and I held it in as long as I could, but now both the big and the small are knocking at the door simultaneously.
With this double assault bearing down on me, my mental fortitude is about to be pushed to its absolute limit.
And on top of that!
The room I'm hung up in is a reception hall with a carpeted floor.
A stone floor would be one thing, but if I soil something this expensive-looking,
Lord Rimuru is also the type who nags about things like toilets and baths that he never used to care about, so if I get the room dirty, he'll definitely be furious…
I might actually be in mortal danger right now.
So what the heck do I do…?
Th-this is no joke… This is seriously bad…
When I try to hold it in by squirming, the vibrations travel through the thread and it sways in just the worst way.
At this rate, it's only a matter of time before catastrophe strikes.
There's no cutting the thread, and there's no hoping Lord Rimuru and the others will come back anytime soon.
I'm out of moves. I'm totally screwed.
Cold sweat has been pouring down without a break, and my vision's going blurry.
Since there's no way to escape from here, I should just give up and let everything go— No, wait a second. Come to think of it…
It was like a voice from heaven spoke to the me who was on the verge of giving up.
*"If it really bugs you, then summon your damn partner and have him save you!"* That's right — Lord Rimuru said exactly that!
I was being tested! Now that I know that, I'd better summon him right away!
*(Partner, come to me! You gotta get here fast or something terrible is gonna happen!!)* When I focused my thoughts, I felt the Tempest Wolf — the one who'd never responded to me before — tilt his head in acknowledgment.
This is looking promising.
Then, desperately calling out, it took three tries before I finally got the feeling that our consciousness had linked up.
Once that happened, things moved fast. After all, my mental energy had been sharpened to its absolute peak!
In the end, I managed the summoning just in the nick of time, and my partner carried me to the toilet.
The part where I collapsed right after and completely released everything is a secret.
Fortunately, Lord Rimuru and the others didn't return for several more days, so I was able to finish the laundry and erase all the evidence before they got back.
The fact that I actually succeeded in summoning my partner really surprised them all, which helped me feel a little better.
Needless to say, I have absolutely no intention of telling anyone about that time I failed.
That secret goes with me to the grave.
Behind every success, there's hard work — and that's the tale!
