Are there treasures in the Dream World?
There are! And plenty of them — whether it was dreams that contained rules, or all manner of materials and treasures, any of them were enough to drive Crescent Moon or even Radiant Sun level Wizards into a frenzy.
But the dangers within the Dream World were equally terrifying. The seas could become fields in the span of a single moment. A bug you stepped on yesterday might grow into an Evil God-level powerhouse by today, and crush you in return.
A world where illusion and reality, past and future were all blurred together, filled with endless uncertainty — it was not something Leylin was willing to touch lightly.
During this period, he hadn't even finished exploring the surroundings of his laboratory, all because he didn't dare to venture too deep.
Moreover, in his eyes, treasures and enlightenment were not the most precious bounty the Dream World had to offer.
The most precious treasure of the entire Dream World was, in fact, the Dream Force that permeated everywhere!
Only this Dream Force served as the foundation upon which the entire Dream World was constructed!
Whether it was Evil Gods or mysterious treasures, they were all built upon Dream Force as their cornerstone. And if one could completely master this power, not only could one circumvent most of the dangers within the Dream World and freely explore its entirety, but one could also greatly strengthen oneself in the process.
"Dream Force! It's probably half a tier above Soul Force and Bloodline Force — a far more advanced form of energy..."
A gleam of longing flickered through Leylin's eyes.
"If I could completely master this power, not only would I be able to move unimpeded through the Dream World, but I could also discard the laboratory entirely and attempt to communicate with the Dream on my own..."
The connection between this laboratory and the Dream World would eventually be severed one day. Leylin was preparing for that eventuality, searching for his own method of communicating with the Dream World.
"Activate the isolation barrier! Engage power plate number fifty-two! Set the index to level five!"
Leylin commanded, and within the thunder pool, terrifying bolts of lightning suddenly converged, sending out endless ripples.
Several silver metallic plates slowly rose up, forming a square metal box that completely sealed off the cultivation vessel inside.
Masses of lightning clung to the metal plates, forming a blue surface as if coated with a layer of blue insulation.
"Activate Observer Mode!"
The blue light in Leylin's eyes grew even more intense, nearly piercing the air before him.
And within his field of vision, the dark-red Dream Force passed through the lightning cage without the slightest obstruction. It paused only briefly at the surface of the metal plates before plunging in without hesitation, sinking into the beetle's body.
"Experiment failed." Chip's cold voice rang out, darkening Leylin's expression.
"Again." Whether in his previous life or this one, Leylin had been through this countless times. There wasn't a shred of frustration in his heart as he expressionlessly moved on to the second experiment.
"The dto-3 series alloys won't work. They'll need to be replaced..."
Flames seemed to burn within Leylin's eyes, brimming with boundless fighting spirit.
……
Time ticked by bit by bit, to the point where even Leylin had grown somewhat numb. Yet the movements of his hands remained impeccably precise — swapping out components, setting experimental parameters and constants, all without a single error.
A multitude of lightning runes formed and adhered to a sheet of glass-like material. Inside it sat the petri dish from before, black beetles crawling ceaselessly across its surface, their spindly legs scrabbling to pry open the sealed lid.
"Pop!"
Just then, as if affected by something, the beetles' movements suddenly froze, their forms becoming visibly distorted.
[Dreamforce detected as isolated. Subject's biological signatures becoming unstable! Ding! Interference detected. Scanning impossible...]
Amid the Chip's mechanical voice, the beetle inside the petri dish suddenly grew frenzied, chirping incessantly, its shrill cries piercing through the walls of the dish.
The piercing insect cries were extraordinarily sharp and carried a note of panic, and Leylin's mind was instantly drawn in.
He stared at the outermost glass plate, a blue glow kindling in his eyes.
Through his Astral Vision, vast quantities of dark reddish, misty Dreamforce were being blocked by the glass plate, unable to enter the petri dish.
Yet from the stimulation of the experiment, wisps of dark reddish gas were continuously emanating from the beetle's body.
Each time a wisp of reddish gas rose from its surface, the beetle's silhouette grew fainter still, its very outlines becoming unstable.
The effect was as though the beetle were nothing more than a three-dimensional projection whose image was being disrupted.
