Chapter 287. Teleportation

"Hm? Special spiritual power carrying soul plague, and this mixed soul power of resentment! You're Gegewu! The culprit behind the great western plague!!!"

Third-rank White Wizard Avik instantly recognized this Gegewu's identity.

"Squeak!" In response, Gegewu let out a tremendous roar.

The cloaked figure with a white bone mask waved its cape, and a mass of bewildered or maddened souls surged directly toward Avik. Many souls began self-detonating mid-air.

"Boom!!!" The immense power of the soul explosions carried the deadly poison of the ancient soul plague, causing Avik's expression to shift repeatedly as he retreated again and again.

"Holy Light of Glory!" he suddenly shouted, like a bishop facing death head-on, his face bathed in radiant, brilliant light.

A torrent of milky-white holy light poured endlessly from his body, and the phantom of a grand, solemn building materialized behind Avik.

The moment the souls encountered the holy light, thick black gas erupted from their bodies, and their maddened expressions instantly became peaceful.

Then, with serene smiles on their faces, they threw themselves one after another into the building behind Avik.

"Truly a resentment entity — Gegewu!"

The White Wizard roared and collided with the massive, frenzied figure.

Milky-white holy radiance and black resentful soul energy constantly intertwined and cancelled each other out.

……

Meanwhile, Leilin was placing a black Magic Stone crystal into the energy slot.

Boom! The entire teleportation magical array activated. Rings of light flared to life, and four energy spheres representing earth, fire, water, and wind floated atop the surrounding stone pillars. Red, yellow, cyan, and blue light converged together, producing a dazzling spectacle.

"Didn't expect that Third-rank Wizard to arrive so quickly! But it's fine — I'm not entirely unprepared..."

Leilin watched the spatial passage forming and couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief.

He had long anticipated the possibility of being discovered and tracked by a Third-rank Wizard. After all, this Third-rank Wizard had been periodically activating the mark to pinpoint his location, never giving Leilin any chance to rest or expel the mark.

And to buy himself enough time, Leilin had thought of this Gegewu.

It had clearly marked Leilin as a target, convinced that he would covet the secret realm and return, so it had set up a hidden sensing array at the entrance.

But under Leilin's scanning, none of this could escape detection. Even the previous magical arrays had been temporarily disrupted and sealed by him.

And Leilin's earlier actions were to thoroughly activate the sensing array, lure the Gegewu over, and buy himself time.

Since that Third-rank Wizard was from the White Wizard Alliance, how could he possibly let go of a resentment entity like Gegewu — let alone the fact that it was directly connected to the recent great western plague.

Now it seemed things were progressing smoothly.

A pitch-black spatial passage, emitting silver light, materialized from nothing atop the teleportation array.

"I have to leave here! I don't know when I'll be able to come back!"

Leilin looked back at this land, suddenly feeling a pang of reluctance.

No matter what, this was the place where he had first transmigrated and grown. It had left deep imprints in his memory.

If the other side truly wasn't a good place, and if that Third-rank Wizard hadn't discovered this location, Leilin might have been able to use the teleportation array on the other side to return. But now, clearly, that path was completely cut off.

And without the teleportation array, if Leilin wanted to return under his own power, he truly had no idea when that would be.

"Goodbye! South Coast!" Leilin murmured.

Boom!!!

Just as he was about to step into the spatial passage, a tremendous roar erupted, and the surrounding scenery trembled violently, as if struck by a magnitude-ten earthquake.

Crash!!!

The ceiling of the secret chamber was torn clean off, and boundless holy light poured in.

"Leilin! Don't you even think about escaping!!!" Avik screamed as he lunged forward, his body still bearing the horrific wounds from the soul self-detonation.

That Gegewu was, after all, an ancient creature — one that might have once touched the threshold of Morning Star.

Although its strength hadn't fully recovered and it had only been using an avatar, it had still given Avik quite a bruising.

"An ancient teleportation array?"

The moment Avik saw the four-colored glowing formation in the center, he exclaimed in shock.

As a Third-rank Wizard, he had lived for several hundred years at least. How could he not know what an ancient teleportation array represented?

It meant another continent — a continuous stream of resources, countless benefits beyond counting!!!

"Stay here!!!" Avik's eyes turned red. Before an ancient teleportation array, everything else could be abandoned. He roared, and two massive hands formed entirely of holy light reached out to seize Leilin.

But Leilin merely regarded Avik coldly and spoke two words from his mouth: "Too late."
