"What the...???"
Hearing the mechanical voice inside his mind, Leilin's pupils dilated instantly.
"Isn't this the auxiliary chip I had in my brain before? How did it cross over with me too? That's impossible!!!"
Leilin found it hard to believe, then spoke in his mind: "Chip! Scan my brain and locate the auxiliary system!"
"Beep! Scan complete! No foreign objects detected within the host's brain!"
In an instant, the chip's mechanical voice responded.
"Then scan my whole body and display the physical data!"
Another mechanical sound followed.
"Beep! Scan complete!"
"Fang Ming (Leilin Farell) — Strength: 0.4, Agility: 0.5, Constitution: 0.4, Condition: intracranial hemorrhage, multiple soft tissue injuries."
"No chip detected within the host's body!"
A three-dimensional holographic projection appeared before Leilin's eyes, displaying his own body, with data listed alongside.
"No chip? I figured — the chip is a physical object, so how could it follow my soul across worlds?" Leilin thought. "Looks like during the explosion or the crossing itself, some kind of mutation occurred — the chip's function merged with my soul…"
"If I were still back in my old world, this would be a monumental discovery! Not only would it prove the existence of the soul, it would also reveal the possibility of mutual conversion between matter and soul! It would drive that bunch of old fogeys at the National Academy of Sciences completely mad. Too bad they'll never get to see it!"
This kind of chip was a must-have for scientists in his previous world. Due to ethical and mental-health concerns, it had no intelligence — only two functions: analysis and storage.
Analysis could collect sample data and run simulations according to the host's commands.
Storage was even simpler — it could record everything the host's five senses experienced. According to calculations from his previous world, this chip's storage capacity was enough to record everything that happened over tens of thousands of years.
"Why the chip merged with my soul — that's a question I'll have to wait until I have the ability and resources to explore it! But having the chip here gives me something to work with in this world!"
A brilliant smile suddenly appeared on Leilin's lips. He knew full well that in a world still stuck in the medieval era, possessing a crystallization of future technology meant his path ahead would be anything but ordinary!
"However! This body's stats are really..." Staring at the data on display, Leilin was speechless again.
These were measured against the baseline of an adult's physiological indicators. Theoretically, a normal adult should score around 1.0 in every category. Leilin might only be thirteen or fourteen, but these numbers were absurdly low.
"Hm? Wait — maybe humans in this world are just physically weaker overall. Chip, scan the physical data of the people around me!"
"Beep! Task established. Beginning data collection!"
Almost instantaneously, three-dimensional body scans of the surrounding individuals appeared before Leilin, complete with data readouts.
"Name unknown, Sex: Male — Strength: 0.9, Agility: 1.1, Constitution: 0.8" "Name unknown, Sex: Male — Strength: 1.2, Agility: 0.9, Constitution: 1.0" "Name unknown, Sex: Female — Strength: 0.8, Agility: 1.2, Constitution: 0.7"
"Alright! So humans in this world are actually physically stronger on average than people in the future. And this Leilin can't even compare to a girl... I'm blushing on his behalf..."
Leilin looked around. Everyone nearby was about his age. Even a girl who looked delicate and fragile outperformed him by a wide margin, and that realization utterly crushed him.
"So this Leilin is nothing but a lazy, lecherous waste!"
"Name unknown, Sex: Male — Strength: 3.3, Agility: 2.5, Constitution: 3.2. Warning! Warning! This organism is extremely dangerous. Host is advised to evacuate to a distance of at least one kilometer immediately!!!"
The red alert flashed three times, leaving Leilin completely stunned.
"An average score of 3.0!" Leilin groaned. He scanned several more times, and once he confirmed the chip hadn't made an error, he was simply at a loss for words.
"Even a world champion wouldn't hit these numbers. Back in my previous world, this guy could go out in his underwear and play Superman!"
As a scientist, Leilin understood perfectly well what a constitution of 3.2 meant — this person's ability to withstand impact, resist viruses, and recover from injuries was all more than three times that of a normal human!!!
And when every physical stat was three times normal, it wasn't just a simple addition. What did that even represent?
It meant this person could take on dozens of people with bare hands, even withstand a hundred attackers. In his previous world, he'd be a mini Superman!
"Probably only genetically modified bio-humans in a laboratory could reach these numbers, and even then only in a single stat. This world really is something else!"
Leilin thought to himself as he glanced once more at the person with such terrifying power.
It was a man in black responsible for distributing food — middle-aged, with a scar running from his forehead all the way down to his lip, nearly splitting his face in two. He looked incredibly fierce.
The spotted boy from earlier had been terrified by him.
"This is one of the academy servants who came to pick us up. They say he isn't even a wizard, and he's already this terrifying. So what must a real wizard be like?"
