"Now!"
Bosain roared, the silver armor on his body condensing once more as a long silver sword materialized in his hand. The void around him rippled faintly.
"I'm going all in!" Jiamen's eyes turned slightly red as he chanted a few ancient syllables, biting his finger open and letting blood drip onto the green badge.
BOOM!!!
Countless vines burst out from underground, but this time their surface had turned completely red, the barbs even denser than before, flecked with specks of green. A feeling of extreme danger spread outward.
"Then let's do this!" Leilin flicked his hand, sending over a dozen fire-red potions flying through the air.
On the body of the Horalar Black Snake, another dozen bright bursts of flame erupted.
And then, with a flash of light in Leilin's hand, the black longbow appeared once more in his palm.
"Frost Rune!"
Leilin chanted the incantation, and the surface of the original black arrow gradually became coated in a layer of fine ice crystals, transforming into a long frost arrow!
"Kill!!!"
Three voices shouted the same word at once.
The blood-red vines surged far faster than before, whipping up gusts of wind as they instantly ensnared the still-writhing Horalar Black Snake on the ground.
At the same moment, a frost arrow cleaved through the void, piercing straight through the black snake's right eye.
"Hisssss!!!"
Flames burned inside the Horalar Black Snake's mouth. One eyeball shattered completely, spilling out large amounts of glistening, semi-transparent fluid as the creature let out a pained shriek.
"Die!"
Amid the thunderous shout, all the silver armor on Bosain's body melted into liquid metal and flowed into the longsword in his hands.
Under the influence, the silver sword swelled to over five meters in length, and mysterious arcane runes appeared along the blade.
"Maximum power! Strongest form! Drop dead!"
Bosain's muscles bulged continuously, and numerous spell luminescences flickered directly from his body.
Leilin merely glanced over and identified several zero-level spells that temporarily boosted constitution and strength.
With so many spells bolstering him, Bosain's physical parameters had surely surpassed the Great Knight level, approaching the legendary advancement of a Great Knight — the Brand Swordsman!!!
SCHWIP!!!
The longsword pierced through the Horalar Black Snake's surface defenses with ease, plunging straight into the creature's vital point — the heart.
Countless streams of bright red blood laced with streaks of black gushed forth. The black snake's body coiled up, only to be pulled straight again by the blood-red vines. The enormous vines crawled directly to the wound, and with what seemed like intelligence, burrowed right inside.
"Hisssss!!!"
The great serpent roared and thrashed continuously, blood splattering across the surrounding ground.
After struggling for over ten minutes, the Horalar Black Snake's remaining left eye lost all light, and it collapsed to the ground.
"Is it dead?" Jiamen asked uncertainly. The blood-red vines still clung tightly to the giant snake's body.
"Target in critically injured state. Life fluctuations continuously declining!"
"Target life fluctuations dropped to baseline!"
"Target life fluctuations completely gone. Confirmed dead!"
The Chip's prompts left Leilin certain the great snake was dead, but he still said: "Cast a few more detection spells first!"
The lesson from when the Chip had failed to detect the Horalar Black Snake earlier was still fresh in his mind.
For all he knew, this black snake might possess some secret technique to conceal its life fluctuations and evade the Chip's detection!
The three apprentices then cast numerous additional spells before finally confirming that the Horalar Black Snake — which had killed two of their companions — was thoroughly dead.
Upon hearing this conclusion, Jiamen immediately retracted the blood-red vines and collapsed to the ground.
Leilin noticed that Jiamen's face was completely devoid of color, shockingly pale, as though he had lost a massive amount of blood.
Meanwhile, Bosain's greatsword had fully liquefied back into metal, shrinking into his hand. He couldn't even maintain his armor form anymore.
It seemed his magical item had also consumed a great deal of energy.
Every last detail of these observations was recorded in the Chip's database as it furiously calculated their combat states and simulated win probabilities.
Of course, in the eyes of the other two, Leilin was simply a somewhat more capable Wizard Apprentice whose only noteworthy assets were decent potions and a Frost Rune.
This was the illusion Leilin had painstakingly crafted.
"There's still this! I need to collect it quickly!"
Leilin looked at the black snake lying on the ground, all signs of life gone, blood still flowing steadily from its wounds.
A faint magical fluctuation generated in Leilin's hand.
