"Since that's the case, shall we go in together?!"
Bosain looked at Leilin and the other two.
"Of course!" A look of determination surfaced on Jiamen's face.
For him, this expedition would only count as a success if they discovered a wizard's inheritance!
"I have no objections!" Leilin appeared calm on the surface, though inwardly he was far less composed than he let on.
He knew exactly who had left these ruins behind, and what lay buried within.
"The inheritance left by a Fourth-rank Wizard, a legendary Sage, the Great Crimson Wizard!" Leilin's heart gradually began to burn with excitement.
All three were in agreement, and they entered the rusted metal passage.
The passage was spacious, wide enough for three adults to walk abreast.
For three youngsters like Leilin and his companions, it naturally felt even more roomy.
Leilin touched the wall, and flakes of dust fell away to reveal a silvery-white metal surface beneath.
First came a cold sensation, then a gentle warmth — this metal brought a peculiar texture to Leilin's fingertips.
"Unknown metal detected. No records found in the database!" After scanning, the Chip delivered its verdict.
"This is Weeping Blood Alloy. When it's forged, it seems that the blood of beasts or slaves must be added. It's said to have a certain restraining effect on spiritual entities!"
Bosain's voice reached Leilin's ear.
If wizards were to be seen as ordinary people, then Bosain was the aristocracy among them — his knowledge and discernment surpassed Leilin's in certain areas.
After all, some precious records were only passed down within wizard families, things Leilin had absolutely no access to.
"Weeping Blood Alloy?!"
Leilin silently issued a mental command: "Chip! Record the composition!"
The Chip's notification tone sounded in Leilin's ear.
"We're getting close to the barrier we discovered earlier!"
Jiamen, walking on the right, suddenly spoke up: "Since the passage is made of this kind of metal, it means we might encounter..."
"Spiritual entities!" Leilin and Bosain said simultaneously, both their expressions turning somewhat grim.
For wizard apprentices, lacking effective means of defense, there was simply no good way to handle attacks from spiritual entities.
An ordinary apprentice would have retreated long ago.
But Leilin's group was different. Both Bosain and Jiamen carried Magical Items they could use for temporary defense. While certainly not as effective as the Falling Star Pendant — an item specifically designed for protection — it was still something a spiritual entity couldn't break through in a short time.
As for Leilin himself, he had studied spiritual entities for a full two years. With the Chip's assistance, his understanding of spiritual entities actually exceeded that of some academy instructors.
At that moment, a shiver ran through Leilin's body.
"Detected increase in ambient Negative Energy concentration — 3.14% above normal levels!" the Chip's voice announced.
"This environment matches one of the patterns previously recorded by the Chip as most suitable for spiritual entity survival!"
A thick sense of wariness rose in Leilin's heart.
"We're here!"
Leilin narrowed his eyes slightly. Ahead, a brightly lit opening had appeared.
After passing through it, the sudden brilliance stung their eyes, forcing them to shut them involuntarily.
When they opened them again, they found themselves standing in a multicolored sea of flowers.
Tulips, fire poppies, red Damask chrysanthemums, green calla lilies — all manner of flowers, some Leilin had heard of and some he hadn't, bloomed throughout the garden.
The garden seemed to have been placed under some kind of magical spell, as flowers of different blooming seasons and different regions grew wildly together in the flowerbeds.
The common flowers were merely decoration. Leilin took a brief sniff and immediately recognized many medicinal herbs useful to wizards.
Quite a few of them were ingredients that even Instructor Guofate couldn't find. Yet here they were, resting quietly in the flowerbeds.
"Purple Leaf Flower, Nose Root Fruit, Walking Dragonfly, Inverted Sunflower — they even have the Void Blossom!!!"
Jiamen and Bosain's voices of wonder kept ringing out.
Near the end, there appeared many flower species that even Leilin couldn't recognize. But judging by where they were planted, their value was clearly even greater than that of the Void Blossom.
Now Leilin finally understood where the name Dylan Garden came from.
This enormous garden spanned at least several dozen square kilometers. How many rare plants must it contain? How many Magic Stones would they be worth?
Just thinking about it briefly made Leilin feel a little dizzy.
"Ha ha... Solar Golden Flame! It's actually Solar Golden Flame!"
Jiamen stared with fanatical eyes at the flame-like plant in the very center.
"The power of Solar Golden Flame can even be combined with Green Spirit Water to help fire-attribute wizard apprentices break through — increasing the probability by at least twenty percent!"
Jiamen muttered to himself, his hand unconsciously reaching toward the fiery-red Solar Golden Flame.
"Don't!" Leilin suddenly shouted, as though something had occurred to him.
But it was too late. Bosain had completely ignored Leilin's warning and thrust his hand into the flowerbed.
Cling! Cling! Cling!
The sound, like wind chimes, rang out — incredibly crisp and pleasant.
The air froze instantly! The wind! Stopped!
