For a full five days, had been wholeheartedly refining and fusing Demon Spirits.

He had finally produced over sixty Superior-grade Demon Spirits.

"Over sixty Superior-grade Berserker Demon Spirits — surely I can fuse at least one God-grade Berserker Demon Spirit from them?" Nie Li thought to himself, and continued his work.

He placed ten Superior-grade growth-potential Demon Spirits inside and activated the to begin fusing.

Dazzling, brilliant light flashed within. Nie Li saw streaks of seven-colored radiance flickering inside the pot — each Demon Spirit had a slightly different hue, and they were gradually blending together.

"I wonder what the first successfully fused Berserker Demon Spirit will turn out to be?" Nie Li thought in anticipation, his eyes fixed unblinkingly on the Nightmare Demon Pot.

As time passed, suddenly the mass of Demon Spirits inside the Nightmare Demon Pot went "pop" and dissipated into nothing.

"Failed..." Nie Li's mouth hung open, his heart aching. One failure like this meant tens of millions of Demon Spirit Coins vanishing into thin air — an ordinary person doing this would go completely bankrupt! Although Nie Li was quite wealthy, his chances of success were slim.

He only had six attempts, and the first had already failed. How frustrating.

Nie Li took a deep breath, placed another ten Superior-grade growth-potential Demon Spirits inside, and activated the Nightmare Demon Pot once more.

After ten minutes, the Nightmare Demon Pot went "pop" again as the spirits dissipated once more.

"Failed again..." Nie Li felt an urge to vomit blood. In the blink of an eye, another several tens of millions were gone.

Was fusing a God-grade growth-potential Demon Spirit really that difficult? Although Nie Li was a bit frustrated, he didn't give up. Losing a little money was no big deal — he had plenty now.

Nie Li took out another ten Superior-grade growth-potential Demon Spirits and began his third fusion attempt.

The ten Demon Spirits shifted and transformed ceaselessly at the bottom of the Nightmare Demon Pot, slowly merging together. Brilliant, dazzling light flickered continuously as waves of violent Soul Power fluctuations radiated outward from the pot.

Sensing that vast aura of Soul Power, every pore on Nie Li's body opened wide. His Soul Sea continuously absorbed the Soul Power leaking from the Nightmare Demon Pot, and his entire body felt pleasantly warm.

The ten Superior-grade Demon Spirits continued to fuse and transform, ultimately forming an entirely new Demon Spirit.

"Success!" Seeing the Demon Spirit lying quietly at the bottom of the Nightmare Demon Pot, Nie Li was overcome with excitement. He guided the spirit onto a Demon Spirit Stone and examined it carefully.

A God-grade growth-potential Demon Spirit!

After inspecting this Demon Spirit's talents with a Soul Crystal, Nie Li was beside himself with joy. After two consecutive failures, he had finally managed to fuse a God-grade Demon Spirit!

This Demon Spirit was a Nether Tiger Demon Beast of the Berserker type, surging with overwhelming power. Its basic traits were largely similar to a regular Nether Tiger, but what set it apart was a dark metallic sheen covering its entire body, a pair of terrifying razor-sharp antlers atop its head like those of an elk, and its back was studded with spines.

Was this still a Nether Tiger?

Nie Li couldn't help but feel secretly astonished. Since this Demon Spirit was formed from fusing different Demon Spirits together, its characteristics were quite different from an ordinary one — far more powerful, in fact.

The Nether Tiger was already among the more formidable types of Berserker Demon Spirits. After this transformation, who knew what special abilities it might possess.

Nie Li put away the Nether Tiger Demon Spirit first, then continued fusing Demon Spirits — he still had three more attempts left.

Of the next three fusion attempts, Nie Li's luck held — he succeeded twice. One was a Crimson Blood Demon Leopard covered in scales with a pair of wings sprouting from its back. The other... was a Tiger Fang Panda?

Seeing that the third Demon Spirit was actually a Tiger Fang Panda, Nie Li was dumbfounded. This Tiger Fang Panda was plump and round, its fur a patchwork of black and white that gave it an adorably goofy appearance. It looked completely non-threatening — and yet it belonged to the Berserker Element?

It was hard to wrap his head around. Nie Li tested the Demon Spirit's growth potential, and sure enough, it was divine-grade — no mistake about it.

The Tiger Fang Panda was an extremely low-tier Demon Beast with virtually no offensive capability. Very few ever formed into Demon Spirits, so someone had actually managed to hunt one down. What was even more astonishing was that when the Nightmare Demon Pot fused Demon Spirits together, the stronger ones typically devoured the weaker ones to produce the single most powerful result. Both the Nether Tiger and the Crimson Blood Demon Leopard were extremely formidable — so how had this Tiger Fang Panda managed to devour all those other Demon Spirits and survive?

"How peculiar!" Nie Li couldn't help but marvel. He examined the Tiger Fang Panda closely. Both the Nether Tiger and the Crimson Blood Demon Leopard had undergone distinctive physical changes after devouring other Demon Spirits — the Nether Tiger had grown horns and dorsal spines, the Crimson Blood Demon Leopard had sprouted scales and wings — but this Tiger Fang Panda hadn't changed at all. It looked exactly like an ordinary Tiger Fang Panda.

After a moment of silence, a thought struck Nie Li. When the Nightmare Demon Pot refined Demon Spirits, they evolved toward greater power — that was true of both the Nether Tiger and the Crimson Blood Demon Leopard. But this Tiger Fang Panda hadn't changed at all. Didn't that mean it was very likely already in its most powerful form?

Nie Li knew the characteristics of the vast majority of Demon Spirits inside and out, but this Tiger Fang Panda left him somewhat at a loss. Tiger Fang Pandas were simply too weak as a Demon Beast — almost no one would ever choose to fuse with one.

"Maybe the Tiger Fang Panda isn't so simple after all!" Nie Li mused after a moment of thought. He focused carefully on the Tiger Fang Panda Demon Spirit and sensed two completely different types of power within it. These two vastly different forces complemented each other perfectly, forming a wondrous balance.

Yin-yang balance — the most perfect form in all of nature!

The Tiger Fang Panda's eyes held a deep, fathomless glow, and it seemed to retain a faint trace of consciousness. This was entirely different from ordinary Demon Spirits — once they died, they lost all independent awareness.

"Truly strange! But I've made my decision — you're going to be the second Demon Spirit I fuse with!" Nie Li smiled faintly and put away both the Crimson Blood Demon Leopard and the Nether Tiger Demon Spirits. He only needed one Berserker Demon Spirit; fusing more would just be a waste.

" and would be suited for Berserker Demon Spirits too — I'll give these two divine-grade Demon Spirits to them," Nie Li thought. As for , , and the others, he planned to find them different types of Demon Spirits. Ye Ziyun, for instance, would be better suited to a Wind Snow Element Demon Spirit, while Xiao Ning'er was a better fit for a Wind Thunder Element one.

Wind Snow Element and Wind Thunder Element Demon Spirits were harder to come by than Berserker Element ones, but Nie Li had enough money now to acquire them gradually.

Settling into a cross-legged position, Nie Li began fusing with the Tiger Fang Panda Demon Spirit.

Slowly guiding the Demon Spirit into his Soul Sea, Nie Li commenced the fusion.
