The kick landed squarely on Nie Li's abdomen, sending him hurtling back dozens of meters. He slammed hard into a tree, then slowly slid to the ground.
Overseer Yunhua glanced down at Liu Yan lying in a pool of blood, his rage barely containable. He could tell the kid's strength wasn't all that impressive, yet he'd somehow killed two of his men in succession. How could he not be furious?

Nie Li slowly wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, a cold smile playing on his lips. Two down in a row, and now only Overseer Yunhua remained.
"What the hell are you? Die!" Overseer Yunhua roared, driven into a frenzy by the loss of both subordinates. Having merged with the Celestial Star Black Tiger, his body had grown enormous—several meters tall. He lunged downward, swiping his razor-sharp claws at Nie Li, who had merged with the Shadow Demon Spirit.
The Shadow Demon Spirit was an assassin-type Demon Spirit, skilled in stealth kills, but relatively weak in raw power and needing time to grow gradually. Overseer Yunhua's Celestial Star Black Tiger, on the other hand, was a power-type Demon Spirit with formidable combat strength, its body covered in all manner of enhancement sigils.

As Overseer Yunhua searched through the trees, Nie Li hid behind a trunk, holding his breath, not daring to move.
