"Long Sha, were we and the Sacred Family played by that kid
Long Sha shook his head. "Ye Han didn't lie. He almost certainly did poison Ye Zong. It's just that no one expected Ye Zong to still be alive. He must have been saved by someone." Long Sha thought of that youth at the center of the Myriad Demon Spirit Grand Array. Anyone capable of setting up such a grand array resuscitating Ye Zong wasn't exactly surprising.
Gui Sha raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, "What if Ye Han truly betrayed the
"The Demon Lord is in closed-door cultivation. We can't disturb him—we can only watch and wait," Long Sha said thoughtfully. The City of Radiance was a fat piece of meat. Even if the Dark Guild couldn't swallow it right now, they weren't about to let other forces lay their hands on it.
"Long Sha, we've received word that Ye Han has taken refuge with the Netherworld Family. What do we do next?" Gui Sha looked at Long Sha and asked.
Long Sha raised an eyebrow and said, "If Ye Han has joined the Netherworld Family, he'll certainly reveal the secret passage to the surface to their Family Head. Although the Netherworld Family has three Sub-God-level powerhouses, those three ancestors probably won't act personally. Besides, the City of Radiance is tougher than we imagined. With that Myriad Demon Spirit Grand Array, it won't be easy for the Netherworld Family to take it down. We'll just sit back and watch."
Hearing Long Sha's words, Gui Sha's eyes brightened. While the mantis stalks the cicada, the oriole lurks behind—it really was an excellent strategy.
"Send people to closely monitor the Netherworld Family's movements. In the meantime, we need to go into closed-door cultivation and recover from our injuries," Long Sha said in a deep voice. If the City of Radiance really fell to the Netherworld Family during this period, it would be an enormous waste.
"I'll arrange it immediately." Gui Sha nodded, a cold glint flickering through his eyes. Once the Demon Lord emerged from seclusion, what would the Netherworld Family matter? Even those three Sub-God-level ancestors would be powerless against the Demon Lord.
Sub-God-level powerhouses actually had cultivation at only the peak of the Legendary realm. The difference was that they could already harness the power of laws to a certain extent. They were separated from the Spirit God realm by just a single line. Once one fully mastered the power of laws, one would reach the Spirit God realm.
The Netherworld Family had a great many Sub-God-level powerhouses, but as long as the Spirit Gods above them hadn't been completely annihilated and lost control of their laws, those Sub-God-level experts could not master the laws and become Spirit Gods. The probability of becoming a Spirit God was therefore exceedingly small.
Black Stone City was pervaded by an aura of biting cold.
Throughout this Netherworld, the dense power of the Nether Law permeated everything. The chill of that aura even surpassed, to some degree, the power of the Darkness Law.
"Who would have thought that after such an immense span of time, the Nether Domain Ruler's power would have reached such a terrifying level. The moment I entered, I could feel the aura of the Nether Law. I just didn't expect that, all along the way, the entire Netherworld had essentially become his domain," the Flame Empress transmitted to
There were too many powerful beings in the Netherworld. Once they had entered Black Stone City, the Flame Empress didn't dare reveal herself.
The entire Netherworld was that Nether Domain Ruler's domain? Nie Li fell silent for a moment. What level within the Heavenly Mandate realm did this Nether Domain Ruler actually belong to?
On the streets of Black Stone City, Nie Li, clad in a black cloak, walked calmly along, glancing around.
He had never imagined that beneath the surface lay such a world. All manner of powerful beings from various races with bizarre and extraordinary appearances came and went. Troglodytes, Dark Elves, Bigtail Humans, Stone Demons—they actually lived in ways remarkably similar to humans.
They hawking their wares, buying and selling all kinds of goods, making all of Black Stone City remarkably bustling.
As Nie Li walked and observed, he stopped at a tavern where he overheard several Stone Demons conversing.
The Stone Demons gnawed on round, crystalline stones, crunching them as though they were bits of tofu, fragments flying everywhere. Meanwhile, they spoke in hoarse, muddled voices—remarkably, in the language of the human world.
"Did you hear? A few days ago, the Blood Demon Clan and the Jade Seal Family got into a full-blown clash. The Jade Seal Family suffered enormous casualties."
"Why did they clash? Everyone gets along peacefully—the world would be so much more beautiful!" A female Stone Demon let out a coquettish, strange voice.
The sound gave Nie Li goosebumps all over. He would have much rather listened to the male Stone Demons' voices—they were muddled and hoarse, sure, but at least they were tolerable.
"Apparently, when the powerhouses of both families entered the first layer of the Ninefold Deathlands, they discovered a treasure map. That's what started the fight."
"A treasure map from the Ninefold Deathlands? No wonder! Just entering the Ninefold Deathlands is a nine-deaths-in-one-ten adventure. The Jade Seal Family actually dared to clash with the Blood Demon Clan—they were practically asking for death. These humans are truly overestimating themselves. They've only been in our Netherworld for a few thousand years, and they've already forgotten who's in charge here."
