Nie Li had assumed that the Wind Snow Spirit God was simply a creature from another world, but this woman also called herself a Spirit God. Could she be the same kind of being?
Nie Li pondered silently. This woman was most likely a powerhouse who had reached the Heavenly Fate realm. Once one stepped from the Legendary realm into Heavenly Fate, their lifespan would extend indefinitely. Barring some extraordinary circumstance, they would not die. At that level, even countless Legendary-realm experts would be no match.
Just like before the Dark Age arrived, thousands of Legendary powerhouses had besieged a single Demon Beast that had stepped into the Heavenly Fate realm, yet that only invited a catastrophe upon humanity.

Each Secondary World can produce only one. Each of us governs one law of heaven and earth. Thus, Spirit Gods represent the rules of the world."
"In the ancient era, our Primary World had a total of thirty-six Spirit Gods, and the seventy-two Secondary Worlds had seventy-two Spirit Gods. Of those, one quarter were human, one half were Demon Beasts, and the remaining quarter were other beings—the most powerful rulers of this world." Yu Yan spoke slowly. "In order to seize control of the laws, the tribes we commanded waged endless war against one another. In the end, many Spirit Gods perished, and others like me had their divine spark shatter, their true body lost forever."
"We govern the laws of heaven and earth. I, for instance, govern the Law of Fire. Only when I have truly died and relinquished control of the Law of Fire can a successor claim it and become the new Spirit God of Fire." Yu Yan continued.
"Hundreds of thousands of years ago, the Demon Beast race sought to slaughter all of our human Spirit Gods and seize control of every law. They launched a great war against humanity. Though we ultimately banded together and utterly crushed the Demon Beasts, we ourselves were nearly wiped out. My scattered divine spark can sense that the Demon Beasts have just birthed a new Spirit God, and it intends to destroy the human lineage. Unfortunately, only a third of my divine spark has recondensed so far. If more Demon Beast Spirit Gods are born and they come to govern every law, then humanity will face utter annihilation."

Hearing Yu Yan's words, Nie Li gained a rough understanding of what Spirit Gods truly were. It seemed that Spirit Gods possessed a unique method of cultivation that allowed them to break through to the Heavenly Fate realm and fuse with the laws of heaven and earth. As long as those laws persisted, they could not easily be destroyed.

Yu Yan sighed again, her gaze settling on Nie Li. "Among our human Spirit Gods, there was one who had mastered the Law of Space-Time—a supreme powerhouse known as the Spirit God of Space-Time. When the human Spirit Gods were on the verge of annihilation, he used the Law of Space-Time to enter the vast river of time, plucking its strings to influence the past and future, all in an effort to save humanity. We do not know what arrangements the Spirit God of Space-Time ultimately made. All I can do is wait quietly. You are the first person to enter the Black Spring."
Nie Li's eyebrow shot up. There had been a supreme powerhouse who mastered the Law of Space-Time—someone capable of entering the river of time. He realized that despite having reached the absolute peak in his previous life, even stepping into another realm, his understanding of certain truths in the world was still far too shallow. Especially when it came to the Law of Space-Time.
Could the Spirit God of Space-Time be connected to the Book of Time-Space Demon Spirit?
By all logic, Nie Li's cultivation in his previous life had surpassed the Heavenly Fate realm, yet when it came to the Law of Space-Time, he was still only half-informed. The Law of Space-Time was the most mysterious force in all the universe.
