Chapter One Hundred Ninety-Three: Heading to the Black Spring?

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,060 words

A Gold Five Star warrior — by warrior standards, Xiao Lang's strength was actually pretty decent. Too bad he was just a warrior.

Nie Li let out a roar as his body rapidly swelled. He had already fused with the Tiger Fang Panda Demon Spirit, and his massive frame instantly surpassed Xiao Lang's.

"Oh my god, that kid fused with a Demon Spirit!" The few onlookers outside cried out in shock.

Seeing this, Xiao Lang's heart pounded wildly, but the massive hammer he'd swung was already beyond his control.

This Tianyun Tribe had almost no Demon Spirit Masters — only a handful at most. They had never encountered any real combat techniques in battle. In Nie Li's eyes, these people were no different from primitives.

Gravity Field!

Watching Xiao Lang charge at him, Nie Li suddenly unleashed a combat technique.

The hammer in Xiao Lang's hand suddenly became several times heavier. The weapon was already terrifyingly heavy to begin with, but now, multiplied several times over, Xiao Lang felt the monstrous weight threaten to tear his arms apart. Every vein on his face bulged as he barely managed to keep the hammer from slamming into the ground.

So this was a Demon Spirit Master's combat technique — it really was powerful. But Xiao Lang wasn't about to give up that easily. Nie Li's strength only stoked his fighting spirit. Veins bulging across his entire body, Xiao Lang raised the hammer and brought it crashing down toward Nie Li.

Seeing the massive iron hammer hurtling toward him, Nie Li showed no sign of retreat. He swung his enormous palm forward to meet it head-on.

Thunderous Strike!

BOOM!

A deafening explosion rang out as the Tiger Fang Panda's massive palm slammed into Xiao Lang's hammer. The hammer was sent flying, soaring dozens of meters before crashing into the ground with a thunderous boom that left a deep crater.

Xiao Lang's right arm trembled uncontrollably. The webbing between his thumb and forefinger had split open, and blood streamed down. He never imagined that the Tiger Fang Panda could possess such terrifying power — exceeding even his own as a Gold Five Star warrior.

The others stood stunned. They hadn't expected someone so young to be this strong. Xiao Lang was ranked third among their tribe's fighters, and on top of that, he was naturally fierce and blessed with immense strength — even the tribe leader gave him wide berth.

Yet, in just a single exchange, his hammer had been swatted away.

The seven exchanged glances and leaped at Nie Li simultaneously.

Nie Li surveyed the crowd around him. Despite facing so many opponents at once, he was perfectly calm. Having just advanced to Gold Three Star, he'd been looking for someone to test his strength against. Though the Tiger Fang Panda's frame was bulky and somewhat lumbering, its movements were anything but slow.

Sensing a palm strike coming his way, Nie Li sidestepped slightly, dodged the attack, and casually returned a palm strike of his own.

BANG!

A figure went flying backward.

"Don't fight him head-on! Target his lower body — take him down together!" Xiao Lang roared, swinging his remaining hammer at Nie Li. A frontal confrontation was out of the question. Nie Li's power was simply too terrifying, so Xiao Lang fell back on the same tactics he used when hunting demon beasts.

Just as the thin one dove low toward Nie Li's legs, Nie Li suddenly bent his knee and drove it straight into the thin one's face. BANG — blood gushed from the thin man's nose as he was sent flying.

Nie Li moved with fluid grace, fists and feet working in concert. Within a few exchanges, he had sent all seven men flying one after another.

"Die!" Xiao Lang seized the moment when Nie Li was occupied with the others, leaping into the air and bringing his hammer crashing down with savage force.

Seeing the beast-like ferocity on Xiao Lang's face, a cold gleam flashed through Nie Li's eyes. This Xiao Lang had committed all manner of atrocities, and now he wanted to kill Nie Li for his money. He deserved what was coming.

Nie Li let out a furious roar and spat out a Light-Dark Elemental Burst.

A black and a white sphere spiraled through the air, streaking toward Xiao Lang above.

Seeing the two spheres hurtling toward him, Xiao Lang froze in disbelief. At this range, and with himself airborne — he had no time to dodge. The massive hammer in his left hand made any acrobatic evasion nearly impossible.

BOOM!

The Light-Dark Elemental Burst detonated against Xiao Lang's chest. The terrifying blast sent him hurtling through the air, spinning end over end, until he smashed into a large tree dozens of meters away and then slowly slid to the ground.

THUD!

The remaining iron hammer flew five or six meters and slammed into the earth, leaving yet another deep crater.

The other seven men stood frozen in horror. That explosion had been absolutely terrifying — even from seven or eight meters away, they had felt the devastating shockwave. What kind of technique was that? It was beyond anything they could comprehend!

Their boss Xiao Lang was a Gold Five Star warrior blessed with superhuman strength. And yet, in the first exchange his hammer had been knocked away, and in the second he himself had been sent flying. The power of that explosion was nightmarish — one direct hit and Xiao Lang would be done for.

"With only that much skill, you still dare play at being robbers?" Nie Li shrugged. In his view, Xiao Lang was a Gold Five Star warrior but no more refined than a caveman. Nie Li hadn't even used his full strength.

Two exchanges to finish off a Gold Five Star powerhouse — was this the fearsome power of a Demon Spirit Master?

The remaining seven felt their legs go weak with fear. Only now did they realize they had provoked someone they absolutely should not have.

All seven turned to flee. Though they had sustained some injuries from their earlier clash with Nie Li, survival was all that mattered now — who cared about a few wounds?

Then, suddenly, their bodies grew several times heavier. A killing intent washed over them, and their souls nearly fled their bodies in terror.
