Seeing one exquisite pastry after another being devoured by , , and , the hearts of those noble family scions were filled with envy and frustration. Why didn't they get such treatment?

also ate a few pieces. Her movements as she ate were elegant and delightful to watch.

After chatting with Nie Li for a while, Xiao Ning'er returned to her seat.

Lu Piao slapped Nie Li on the shoulder, winking suggestively. "When did you hook up with our Goddess Ning'er? Come on, spill!"

Nie Li shrugged. "We're just ordinary friends!"

"Yeah, right! Who believes that?" Both Du Ze and Lu Piao shot Nie Li looks of disdain.

"If you're just ordinary friends, would Goddess Ning'er bring you breakfast?"

No matter how Nie Li explained, Du Ze and Lu Piao remained utterly unconvinced. Many of the noble family students in the class also shot hostile glances at Nie Li. He had silently claimed one of the class's two goddesses. How could they possibly give him a good look?

"Maybe she just needed help with something," Nie Li said calmly.

This kid, Nie Li, was tight-lipped. No matter how Du Ze and Lu Piao tried to pry information from him indirectly, they couldn't get a single word out. They could only give up in frustration. They decided they would investigate thoroughly and find out exactly what relationship existed between Nie Li and Goddess Ning'er.

The bell for class rang. swayed her hips and walked in, her face beaming with a spring-like glow, looking less cold and proud than usual. Her smile was as bright as a chrysanthemum.

"You three, go back to your seats!" Shen Xiu glanced at Nie Li and the others. An important figure was coming to observe today's lesson, so she naturally didn't dare to cause any trouble.

"Today, I'm going to talk to you all about Runic Patterns. Whether you're a Warrior or a Demon Spirit Master, Runic Patterns are extremely important. They are divided into two main categories: Weapon Sigils and Combat Sigils! Weapon Sigils are etched onto armor and weapons, greatly enhancing their power. For Demon Spirit Masters especially, weapons and armor inscribed with advanced Runic Patterns can allow them to exert strength far beyond their own. As for Combat Sigils, they are used on Inscription Scrolls. When inscribed on a scroll, they can unleash powerful combat force upon activation!" To everyone's surprise, Shen Xiu actually started teaching some substantive content today.

"Runic Patterns are profound and mysterious. They began circulating during the late period of the Wind Snow Empire and have been continuously refined over thousands of years. However, during the Dark Age, the continent was ravaged by rampaging Demon Beasts. Our only inherited a portion of the Runic Patterns. There are three main categories: Wind Snow Sigils, Sacred Fire Sigils, and War Edge Sigils. They correspond to the Wind and Snow attribute, the Fire attribute, and the Non-Attribute, respectively."

"Today, we will focus on Weapon Sigils," Shen Xiu explained calmly, her tone much gentler than usual.

Outside the classroom, three elders sat together, listening intently.

"The young master of the Sacred Family is indeed quite knowledgeable. He's certainly more than capable of teaching this batch of students!" One of the elders stroked his beard and smiled. His name was , and he was the Vice-Principal of Sheng Lan Academy.

"A few students in this class are quite impressive. Not just , but also and Xiao Ning'er!" Another elder chimed in obsequiously. He was a professor at Sheng Lan Academy named .

Besides Ye Sheng, there sat an elderly man in grey robes. Even Lü Ye didn't know his identity. The grey-robed elder merely sat there casually, yet he exuded a powerful, naturally authoritative aura of a superior. This made Lü Ye speak cautiously, not daring to be careless in the slightest.

"What do you think?" Ye Sheng looked at the grey-robed elder.

"Mm," the grey-robed elder responded noncommittally.

Lü Ye was inwardly puzzled. He wondered what identity this grey-robed elder could possibly have to treat Vice-Principal Ye Sheng so dismissively. His status must be extraordinary, likely even above that of the . Lü Ye didn't dare to say anything more.

The students inside the classroom were unaware that someone was listening outside. Given that Shen Xiu was actually covering some substantive material for once today, everyone was listening attentively.

Shen Xiu straightened her back slightly, a touch of pride showing on her face. "Today, I will talk about the Sacred Fire Sigils! In the research of Sacred Fire Sigils, the Sacred Family is the undisputed leader!"

"The Sacred Fire Sigils consist of sixty-six basic runic patterns. For example, this one..." Shen Xiu drew a totem composed of many shapes on the blackboard. "This is the Scarlet Flame Burst Runic Pattern. The Scarlet Flame Burst Runic Pattern was created by the first patriarch of the Sacred Family and is the most powerful Bronze-tier sigil! This sigil is composed of thirty-six basic runic patterns, making it also the most complex Bronze-tier sigil in terms of composition. Next, we will discuss these thirty-six basic runic patterns."

Shen Xiu talked on and on.

The other students in the class listened with great interest, but only Nie Li seemed absent-minded. He had zero interest in these basic runic patterns, and moreover, the basic patterns of the Sacred Fire Sigils actually numbered over six hundred, not sixty-six.

If not for Ye Ziyun and the few treasures at Sheng Lan Academy, Nie Li wouldn't have stayed here to listen to Shen Xiu's boring lecture. In his opinion, Shen Xiu's lessons were riddled with errors and completely unworthy of listening to. For a single Scarlet Flame Burst Runic Pattern to be called the most powerful Bronze-tier sigil was simply absurdly arrogant and ignorant.

Shen Xiu's gaze swept across the room and landed on Nie Li. Nie Li had previously contradicted her, shown her no respect, and even made a bet with her—she had held a silent grudge ever since. Seeing Nie Li not paying attention in class, she sneered inwardly. Finally, she had found an opportunity!

As Shen Xiu rattled on about the thirty-six basic runic patterns, Nie Li, having absolutely no interest, simply slumped over his desk and fell fast asleep.
