The area Jiang Chen had marked out wasn't large. Locating the key node within it would be relatively straightforward.
"Can we destroy the key node if we all attack this area together?" the Eternal Sacred Ancestor couldn't help but ask.
But Jiang Chen wasn't in a hurry to respond. He pondered for a moment. "The Taibai Splitting Light Convergence Formation is extremely profound — every single node is critically important. If we destroy one node, the formation will be at least thirty percent broken. Destroy two, and it'll be more than half collapsed. So we should hold off for now and not rush to take out this node."
"Why not?" the Radiant Sacred Ancestor asked, puzzled.
"I think we should find two nodes first, then attack them simultaneously — break through both at the same time. That way, our chances of shattering the formation and breaking through the blockade in one decisive stroke will be much greater. If we only take out one node and the enemy has massed heavy reinforcements or has other countermeasures in place, we might find it very difficult to break out of the encirclement."
"You mean that breaking one node may not be enough to crack the formation, but taking out two at once gives us a much better shot?"
"That's the idea."
"Can't we break one first, then go after the other?"
"That would alert the enemy too easily. It would prompt them to reinforce their defenses. I don't think they set up this formation to actually trap us to death — they just want to stall us here. My guess is they definitely have some other scheme in the works."
This was precisely what the ancestors of the ten great holy lands were most worried about.
"Then let's keep searching for the first node," the Rising Sun Ancestor suggested.
With a plan in hand, finding the second node was considerably easier. However, the two nodes were inevitably separated by a considerable stretch of space.
Finding the second node required searching in a different direction.
Using the same method, they quickly locked onto the second area — the location of the second node.
Based on the distance between the two areas, Jiang Chen ran a quick calculation and formed a rough estimate in his mind.
"The Taibai Splitting Light Convergence Formation isn't particularly high-level. It should have five key nodes. Destroying two of them will more than suffice."
"Shouldn't we find one more?" The Eternal Sacred Ancestor still felt three would be more secure.
Jiang Chen considered this, then said, "If we identify three, our forces will have to be split into three groups. I'm not certain we have enough manpower."
Jiang Chen had his own concerns. His decision to attack two key nodes was the result of careful calculation.
If the ancestors of the ten great holy lands had reached the mid-stage of the Divine Dao, then attacking all five key nodes simultaneously would have been no great issue.
Because their strength would have been sufficient.
But these ancestors were all at the early stage of the Divine Dao — not a single one had surpassed the fourth level. Given that, attacking three key nodes simultaneously would still be extremely difficult.
Even if Jiang Chen summoned the Vermilion Bird Divine Beast and the Black Tortoise Divine Beast to help, it still wouldn't be quite enough.
Besides, the five nodes were essentially five critical links in the chain. Destroy two of the key links, and the Taibai Splitting Light Convergence Formation would absolutely suffer a massive collapse.
