A chill ran through
Long before returning, Tang San had already figured out which herbs were best suited for each person.
Although the number of immortal-grade herbs was limited, he could still just barely allot one plant to each of the Shrek Seven Devils. It wasn't that he didn't want to give the herbs to his teachers — the reality was that the younger one's body was when consuming these immortal herbs, the better the absorption. Anything otherwise would result in a loss of medicinal potency.
Seeing the fatty's face lit up with excitement, Tang San chuckled. "Relax, I haven't forgotten you. Fatty, I've thought long and hard about that wicked fire of yours. The power of your mutated flame is certainly formidable, but at the same time it continuously corrodes your body. The root cause is that your Phoenix flame isn't pure enough. This time I specifically found a supreme herb of pure yang for you."
Tang San shook his head with a smile. "It won't happen. Like I said, the impurity in his wicked fire is what causes the backlash against his body. If it continues like this, someday it may even set him ablaze from the inside. Only by filtering out the impurities in his Phoenix flame will he truly be worthy of being a Phoenix Soul Master. Fatty, this one's for you."
It was a trembling, crimson-red herb — soft and velvety to the touch. It looked quite simple on the surface, composed of nothing more than red blades of grass whose tips resembled a rooster's comb. But upon closer inspection, one could spot what made it extraordinary: the leaf veins shimmered in a brilliant red-gold hue. The moment the herb appeared, the temperature in the entire room rose sharply.
"This is called the Rooster Comb Phoenix Hibiscus. Do not chew it — swallow it whole. Circulate your Soul Power to guide it through your meridians. No matter how painful it gets, you must endure it, or all your efforts will be wasted."
"The effects of this herb are extremely potent — it should dramatically increase both your Soul Power and the power of your flame. If you give up halfway, the medicinal benefit will be greatly diminished." Tang San placed the herb into Ma Hongjun's hands, and the fatty hurried off at once.
Having watched Tang San produce three immortal herbs and give them to three people in succession, even the Great Master couldn't help but show a flicker of emotion on his face. These herbs were not something one had ever seen before — not even heard of.
The fourth person Tang San turned to was not
"Third Brother, what's mine?"
Before Tang San could even speak, Ning Rongrong had already dashed over and grabbed his arm. Xiao Wu, watching from behind, furrowed her brow but said nothing.
Tang San smiled and reached into his Mundred Hundred Treasure Pouch. A flash of golden light, and an extraordinary immortal herb appeared in his hand.
It was a peculiar plant — the stem and leaves below formed an intricate, curtain-like network of fine vines, meticulously woven. At the top, however, bloomed a resplendent golden tulip. Its rich, opulent fragrance immediately replaced the lingering scent of Oscar's Eight-Petal Celestial Orchid, filling the air with an air of magnificent grandeur.
"Your Martial Soul, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, is quite unique. I considered it over and over before selecting this herb for you. It is called the Magnificent Tulip, noble and majestic in appearance. Consuming it allows one to absorb the essence of heaven and earth, the brilliance of the sun and moon. Your Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda already belongs to the category of treasure-type Martial Souls — with the aid of this Magnificent Tulip, the two should complement each other perfectly. This one must not be swallowed. You need to gently draw in the nectar from the pistil, slowly absorbing its essence into your body. Then circulate your Soul Power at a measured pace, allowing the medicinal effect to spread through your limbs and bones."
Ning Rongrong accepted the Magnificent Tulip and grinned cheerfully. "Third Brother, I really want to kiss you right now, but to avoid upsetting Xiao Wu and toppling her jealousy jar, I'll hold back. That said, I absolutely won't take this for nothing — your little sister will make it up to you someday."
Four of the Shrek Seven Devils had now received their immortal herbs. The only two remaining were Xiao Wu and
Xiao Wu stood there in perfect composure, showing not the slightest trace of anxiety. If the herbs Tang San had given the others were that good, how could he possibly shortchange her?
