Chapter 25: My Name Is Xiao Wu, the Wu of Dancing (Part 2)

January 17, 2020 · 6 min read · 1,151 words

The situation looked quite strange. Xiao Wu’s legs had actually coiled around Tang San’s neck. Leveraging the forward momentum of Tang San’s shoulder, she leaned her upper body back, bracing her palms on the ground. Her supple legs were like springs, and just like that, she used them to lock around his neck and throw him backward.

Fortunately, Xiao Wu was young and was wearing pants. If she had been wearing a skirt, then perhaps…

Tang San had never fought a girl before. When Xiao Wu’s first leg wrapped around his neck, he could have reacted, but because her leg was raised, the hem of her pants naturally slid down a few inches. The calf pressing against his neck was now exposed, and the smooth, tender skin of a girl’s leg sent a wave of sensation through him, making his emotions waver for an instant. His reaction naturally slowed by a beat.

By the time Xiao Wu braced her hands on the ground and both legs exerted force simultaneously, it was too late for Tang San to try and resist. After all, a person’s neck was fragile, and he was still just a child. If he tried to resist using his internal energy, his neck could easily be injured. Left with no choice, he could only let Xiao Wu fling his body away.

Tang San realized that Xiao Wu’s method of using her legs for power while bracing with her hands allowed her to utilize her full strength with incredible efficiency. It was actually somewhat similar to the hammer-swinging technique his father had taught him, which also drew power from the calves.

Falling flat on his back, the force wasn’t great, and with the protection of his Mysterious Heaven Skill, Tang San was naturally unharmed.

After throwing Tang San, Xiao Wu nimbly landed on her feet, turned around, and looked at him with a half-smile.

Tang San rolled over and pushed himself up. He wasn’t like Wang Sheng; a loss was a loss, and carelessness was no excuse. He knew that Xiao Wu had held back when throwing him. Otherwise, the legs locked around his neck could have done far more than just throw him.

This technique was something Tang San had encountered for the first time. In his memory, the martial arts of his previous world didn’t seem to have anything quite like it. However, this technique was also very dangerous. If he had reacted faster in that moment, attacking Xiao Wu’s body from such close range wouldn’t have been difficult at all.

“I lost. Can you tell me what technique you just used?” Tang San’s face flushed slightly. He thought to himself that he might be the shortest-serving boss of Dormitory Seven ever.

Xiao Wu smiled and said, “I call this Soft Technique. It’s a skill that utilizes the flexibility and resilience of the body.”

By now, the dormitory students who had been watching were all stunned. Wang Sheng, in particular, had already found it somewhat incredible that Tang San had defeated him earlier. Now, seeing Tang San so decisively beaten by this beautiful little girl, his eyes were wide. He thought to himself, how come all the work-study students this year are so formidable?

Tang San had never had much interest in the position of dormitory boss. He said, “According to the dormitory rules, since you beat me, from now on you’re the dorm head, which means you’re the boss of our group.”

A hint of surprise, mostly delight, surfaced in Xiao Wu’s eyes. “Boss? Sounds like fun. Alright, then from now on I’m your boss. Being a work-study student seems pretty good.”

Xiao Wu chose a bed next to Tang San’s, took the bundle from her back, and placed it together with her school uniform.

“Um, can one of you introduce me to our academy’s situation?” Xiao Wu asked the silent students.

The students were only just beginning to recover from their shock. Xiao Wu’s clean throw of Tang San had left them all feeling a bit intimidated.

It was Wang Sheng who spoke up again.

“As work-study students, we’re actually responsible for cleaning the academy. The specific tasks are arranged by the teacher assigned to us. The academy has six grades, with one class per grade. Boss, you and Tang San are new, so you should be in the first grade. The rest of us are at least in the third grade. I’m moving up to the sixth grade this year. Classes are held in the mornings, and we cultivate on our own in the afternoons. Mornings usually have two lessons—one on academic knowledge and one about Martial Souls. We work-study students mostly have duties in the afternoons, which earns us a little income to cover our food expenses.”

Wang Sheng briefly introduced the other students. Among these work-study students, Wang Sheng had the best innate Martial Soul. Not only was it a beast Martial Soul, but it was also the king of beasts with strong combat power. His Soul Power had already reached the ninth level. Once it rose one more level, he would be able to participate in Soul Beast hunts at graduation to obtain a Soul Ring and elevate his title.

After listening to Wang Sheng, Xiao Wu glanced at Tang San and said, “Tang San, what level is your Soul Power? Just now, I felt your strength was quite formidable.”

Tang San didn’t hide it, as his surface Martial Soul was the most useless Blue Silver Grass. “I have Innate Full Soul Power. So my strength is relatively high.”

“Innate Full Soul Power?” The students cried out in surprise.

Wang Sheng finally felt a sense of balance. Tang San’s Soul Power was stronger than his, so his defeat was only natural. With no one having a Soul Ring yet, Soul Power played a decisive role. No wonder his strength was greater than his own. Wang Sheng’s confidence surged as he thought, his Martial Soul was the War Tiger. Once he and Tang San both obtained Soul Rings and became Soul Masters, Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass would surely be no match for his War Tiger.

Xiao Wu blinked and muttered something to herself.

Just then, a teacher in his thirties walked in from outside. “New work-study students? Step forward.”

Tang San and Xiao Wu stood up from their beds simultaneously.

The teacher had plain features and light green hair. He was holding a set of bedding. “Which one is Tang San?”

Tang San quickly stepped forward.

The teacher said, “My name is Mo Hen. You can call me Teacher Mo. Tang San, this is the bedding the Great Master has for you.”

Tang San accepted the bedding. Although the cover wasn’t ornate, a clean, fresh scent assailed his nostrils. It was all brand new. There was even a pillow. The Great Master had clearly thought of everything for him.
