Neither side had summoned their Martial Souls directly. The five youths on the opposing side saw that the one coming to meet them was a strikingly delicate-looking girl. Although she didn't appear very old, Xiao Wu already stood about 1.7 meters tall by now, and with her adorable wide eyes blinking innocently — the very picture of someone who couldn't hurt a fly — she stepped forward, causing their momentum to deflate instantly.
Oscar moved to Tang San's side and whispered, "Why aren't you going up already? Don't let Xiao Wu take a beating."
Oscar had never seen Xiao Wu fight for real, so he naturally had no idea how strong she was. And since the other side came from an advanced Soul Master academy, they should have at least twenty ranks of Soul Power — and there were five of them.
Tang San didn't step forward. He merely smiled faintly and said, "You've been fooled by Xiao Wu's appearance too, huh? These guys are about to be in trouble."
After years of relentless cultivation, Tang San's Purple Extreme Demon Eye had truly entered the Microscopic stage. Naturally, he could see far more than before.
The Purple Extreme Demon Eye was divided into four levels: Overview, Microscopic, Mustard Seed, and Vast Ocean. At the Overview stage, it could greatly enhance eyesight and allow one to clearly perceive every detail present.
Upon entering the Microscopic stage, according to Tang San's original memories and the records in the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, the Purple Extreme Demon Eye's effect should have been to see things even more clearly, with even richer detail — it could relay everything before him to his nerves at a reduced speed, allowing him to react in the shortest possible time.
But once Tang San's Purple Extreme Demon Eye truly reached the Microscopic stage, he discovered that in this world, the technique had undergone a slight mutation. In addition to its original abilities, he could now perceive how much Soul Power a Soul Master possessed.
There was a caveat, however — he could only see the Soul Power of those whose level was lower than his own. For anyone stronger than him, the Purple Extreme Demon Eye couldn't see through them.
Though he didn't understand the reason, for Tang San this was undoubtedly an extremely useful ability. At the very least, it could help him judge whether an opponent's Soul Power surpassed his own.
Now, relying on the Purple Extreme Demon Eye, he could clearly see that among the seven students from the Canghui Academy, apart from the female student and that teacher — whom he couldn't read — the Soul Power of the other six students was laid bare before him.
The youth who had provoked Dai Mubai earlier and been knocked back had twenty-seven ranks of Soul Power. The five before him now didn't exceed twenty-five.
Tang San knew Xiao Wu's combat experience better than anyone. She possessed twenty-nine ranks of Soul Power, and with her taking the initiative against unsuspecting opponents, Tang San was certain that Xiao Wu couldn't possibly come out worse for the wear. And besides, he was standing right here.
The five youths' forward steps had stalled — but that didn't mean Xiao Wu would pause.
Xiao Wu blinked her big eyes and smiled sweetly. "Hello there, big brothers!"
All five froze simultaneously, exchanging bewildered glances. Being blocked by such an adorable-looking girl, their fierce demeanor instantly stiffened, and for a moment they hesitated, unsure of what to do.
And right in that moment of hesitation, Xiao Wu made her move. Her foot seemed to slip, and she pitched forward, her body tumbling toward one of the youths.
That youth reflexively raised his hands to catch her, only to see a glossy black braid come flying at him from nowhere. Before he could react, his neck was already wrapped tight by Xiao Wu's scorpion braid. At the precise moment this happened, Xiao Wu's forward-lurching body halted, she curled up and leaped, jumping with her back toward the youth, both feet driving straight into his chest.
Having one's neck entangled was unsettling enough on its own. Seeing Xiao Wu's feet bearing down on him, the youth hurriedly raised his arms to block. But how could he have known that Xiao Wu's feet weren't meant as an attack at all — they were merely a pivot point. In virtually the blink of an eye, the force of a front handspring sent him flying.
Back in the day, even Tang San had been caught off guard the first time he encountered Xiao Wu's Soft Technique, let alone these academy-bred students from Canghui Academy who had precious little real combat experience.
Xiao Wu's movements were blindingly fast, her feet never pausing for an instant. Riding the momentum of the handspring, she flung one person away and immediately brought both feet down toward another.
The remaining four youths still hadn't fully recovered from their shock. The one facing Xiao Wu's second wave hurriedly raised both arms in a cross-block to stop her attack. But was Xiao Wu's Soft Technique really so easy to defend against?
His arms did manage to catch her feet — but this Canghui Academy student was stunned to discover that there was absolutely no force behind Xiao Wu's kick. Her feet were as soft as noodles, sliding effortlessly from beneath his arms and clamping firmly around his neck. Then, defying all inertia, Xiao Wu's forward-flipping body reversed into a backflip, and the second person went flying.
All of this happened in the span of a flash. The surrounding diners watched as five Canghui Academy students charged forward, only for two of them to be flung aside cleanly and decisively by a beautiful young girl in the span of a heartbeat.
That teacher from Canghui Academy was also startled by Xiao Wu's fighting style. A mix of alarm and fury crossed his face as he roared, "You idiots — use your Martial Souls!"
Meanwhile, Oscar rubbed his eyes vigorously and couldn't help but exclaim, "Holy crap, she's terrifying. Good thing I never got on your Xiao Wu's bad side."
