"We won?"
Qingshuang and the others, who had been waiting for an opportunity in the distance, stared wide-eyed, unable to believe what they were seeing.
A level-40 Great Lord, defeated by a single person.
There had been instances in the past of monsters guarding new maps being taken down by solo players, but back then, the strongest monsters they'd faced were only at the Lord tier. A Great Lord was a completely different story—monsters on an entirely different level from a Lord.
Especially since they'd witnessed Nuoya's ultimate skill, Death's Tribute.
Everything within a fifty-yard radius turned to sand—not a single living thing could survive.
"That guy's ridiculous—he actually tanked the Great Lord's ultimate and survived. How high must his defense and HP be?" a level-29 Shield Warrior exclaimed in disbelief.
He'd barely managed to weather Nuoya's basic attacks—even with Shield Wall up, he'd still taken over four thousand damage. Without Shield Wall's 50% damage reduction, he would've been one-shotted. For any other class, surviving was even more out of the question.
Both the Shield Warrior and the Guardian Knight could serve as main tanks because they had shields—not only did shields dramatically boost defense, but they also provided additional defensive bonuses, which was what allowed them to hold the line.
But this time, Nuoya hadn't used a basic attack. It was a party-wiping ultimate.
Yet Shi Feng had survived anyway...
His defense and HP were simply beyond imagination.
In truth, Shi Feng himself was breathing a sigh of relief.
He hadn't been sure he'd actually make it.
The power of the Tier-2 forbidden skill Death's Tribute was no joke. Even a player of the same level, caught within the domain—even a main tank with survival skills activated—wouldn't have made it out alive.
While Dragon Power had boosted his defense by 300% and his HP by 300%, letting him brute-force through the Great Lord's attacks with sheer stats, the power of a Tier-2 forbidden skill rivaled that of a Tier-3 ability. It could one-shot Tier-1 classes effortlessly, and even Tier-2 classes would be left crippled or dead.
His thirty-odd thousand HP simply wasn't enough.
The only explanation Shi Feng could think of came down to one thing.
Magic Resistance!
Death's Tribute was a hybrid physical-magical attack, with the magical component dealing the brunt of the damage. His high magic resistance had absorbed a massive portion of the magical damage, which was why he'd survived.
"Captain Qingshuang, are we still going over there?" the female Priest, Xilian, asked after a long pause.
"Of course we're going. If he can pull off a feat like this, then we're witnesses to a legend—how could we not go congratulate him?" When Qingshuang looked at Shi Feng now, there was a trace of reverence in her eyes.
To them, a Great Lord was an insurmountable mountain. Forget about them—in all of the Divine Realm, there hadn't been a single report of anyone conquering this peak. Yet the man before them had scaled it with ease, accomplishing a miracle no one had managed until now.
Meanwhile, Shi Feng wasn't idle. After defeating Nuoya, his level jumped up by one instantly, reaching level 33, which restored a good chunk of his condition. He immediately swung several more strikes at the gray barrier.
The Blade Liberation effect was still active—now was the perfect moment to shatter the barrier.
The gray barrier had barely been able to withstand Shi Feng's attacks before, and now it only took a few strikes. The instant the silver sword light touched the gray shield, it burst like an overinflated balloon pricked by a needle, shattering with a resounding crack.
Shi Feng leaped forward and retrieved the black stone slab from the great stone gate.
